In this one, Mrs seems to be listening to the eggs - but not as 'obviously' as before.
Patily. If you look carefully at your 11 43 picture the bird with wings outsretched has a green ring on his right leg. That is 5R the male.
Birdies LG DU update.
So he has Thanks MIKE
Just popped in to see the current bird standing up over 2 eggs. A bit early for another yet I think. Perhaps tomorrow or day after...such a lovely contented nest to watch, 5R and Mrs seem perfectly at home with each other
I agree, Mims - they do seem a lovely couple. Even when he wasn't on the nest yesterday afternoon he was never far from it. Anyway, here are some photos I took from yesterday:
And for a suitable lunch...........
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Clare : Thanks for the pics. I have not been able to arrange a visit to Manton Bay yet due to one thing or another. Really nice to see.
Love the pics Clare and (if correct of course) well snapped Limpy! Love to see the wings outstretched in flight.
One of the other pics looked like a shell duck, but can't be sure.
Glad you both enjoyed your day:-))
[edit] Clare you took all these yourself - well done. It's not easy to capture moving birds, they pass so quickly out of the viewer. Well they do when I try lol
Nice pics Clare.

Wonderful pictures Clare. You did well.
