Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Not sure what is happening here. I thought bird with outstretched wings might have had a fish bbut just a rather thick stick. Is that the female?
By the time I'd finished the capture that bird have flown Think its Mrs 5R
THen 5R had to do quite a bit of moss and stick moving before he could settle on the eggs. In second picture, that teigging branch in front of his chest gave particular problems. He's settled now
Not sure now whether male or female incubatingI thought bird with outspread wings looked bigger but going by chest pattern.........

A lovely scene earlier, togetherness....this was around 11.20ish. 5R incubates, while Mrs relaxes and preens. When watching earlier Mrs kept looking, seemingly listening, to the eggs but couldn't capture in time.
