Rutland Osprey Team off to Africa next week

Rachel, Linda: I was trying to work out how a 'family tree' software package could simplify the process. But they are designed to be used going in the 'seeking ancestor' direction.
e.g. This from the BBC website, see 'getting started'. Also on Microsoft Excel there are two templates of ready made 'trees', but again they are from the present day backwards. Unless I am missing something the 'osprey tree' would need some more customised approach. So if we imagine the typical family tree as a triangle, so software produces one standing on it's apex, with more and more ancestors per generation, whereas the 'original bird' would produce ever increasing offspring per generation, so the triangle is standing on it's base. (The present day being at the foot of the page.)
Maybe other software such as, organisation charts, or flow diagrams could be used. I was just trying to work out how to simplify the process in my head, so to speak.

jsb, I used a program called legacy, which is free software, there are many free ones, where you can choose in what order they show. Its possible to have more than one pair at the starting point with their offspring below etc, as you say branching off getting wider and wider as the generations reproduce finishing at present day at the widest point.
Cant find a count down clock for Manton Bay. Please would someone tell me when 5R should arrive? He is normally the first isn't he ?
