Thanks Alan.
Excellent news that the team from Rutland are going to Africa It would be really good if the see some of our ospreys!
Willow - they did some fantastic reports/videos last year of when they were out there, so we have that to look forward to again as no doubt they will be giving us some more of their wonderful reports this time. We also have Tim's new book coming out too, so that will be good, I just hope he has the Family Tree that Rachel worked on somewhere within the Book.

Oh yes, Tim's book ! Thanks for the reminder Mary I too will look forward to the Blogs .Thanks for the link Alan
Unfortunately I think the family tree was too late for the book (and in any case, Tim would probably have had to tell/ ask me if it was going to go in). Pity - though the lack of action may mean they already had something worked out for the book. We can but hope...
I have a question that has remained unanswered in my own Rutland Book that some may be able to answer.
When 08 (97) went missing in 2011 his and 5N (04) eggs were abandoned and removed and incubated and one hatched.
This hatcling was placed in Nest O to foster with Blue AW and his partner and along with their three chicks - Total 4 chicks.
Only 3 chicks were ringed Blue AU - AZ and AY.
Now was one of them the fostrered chick of 08 (97) or not or was this the chick that did not survive nest O.
I did believe at the time one of these may of had different markings than the other two.
I also understand DNA was taken but may have been lost at the university so maybe a non conclusive answer.
HELP !!!!!!!!
