The 2012 Loch Garten season started with disappointments. Then we lost the baby in traumatic circumstances. Then in October we lost the second of this year’s chicks, Alba.
So now in November we look forward to following the adventures of our one surviving tracked LG youngster, Caledonia. She apparently left home to move to the city, where she has been exploring city life. Will she become a city girl or will she eventually pack up and move on to Africa? They say you can take the girl out of country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl. Many hope she will stay in Spain. We shall see.
We will be following other tagged UK osprey as well as other birds and wildlife as interesting nests or stories become available.
Also during November we hope to have another Music Night and our third StreetWalk.

To be honest, we need as many people as possible who care. It really hurt me when Alba was lost, but to try to shut out hurt also means you shut out joy. Willow, I am dying to know how your cake turns out and you took the plunge and Karen will be so happy :) speak soon all as definatelhy going TTFN

"I get far too attached to the birds, I know it's wrong but I can't help it." Someone said this several posts back, Starling, I think. but several have entered similar thoughts.
Who is to say what is "right" and what is "wrong"? How can anyone tell us we are wrong to get attached to one of God's lovliest and most fascinating creations, a baby osprey.. I do get attached and no one will ever convince me that I am wrong to do so.
HI June,
I have got attached to " our" Birds and "my" two The Robin and Henry ( the Buzzard) thinking of "Henry" he should be coming for his breafast soon I hope. Have not seen him about as of late. Hope he shows his "Beak " soon . LOL

What lovely words and how true. I hope I can remember this quotation for a long, long time to come.
So much for going and I should have a gag all.

Hi June, I agree its not wrong to be attached to Gods lovliest creatures. With the heartbreak of losing them so young or losing any, comes the joy and delight of watching these beautiful birds.
