This Topic has been set up to follow the Autumn 2012 migration and wintering of satellite tracked ospreys, other than Caledonia and Alba from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread, Tracking Caledonia & Alba
This topic replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Mar-Aug 2012
N.B. There are still some missing details (and possibly birds) which I will add once the information becomes available.

That is an absolute must. Easy too because the bird should be fairly easy to locate not like in Africa.

I hope so to LMac that he comes back one day, and that many of the others do too, these juveniles have certainly had speedy and confident starts to their migrations so wish them well for long and productive lives in front of them.

Hello LMAC/MARY GK - I echo your discussions with interest - I am torn between why he went there - Did he intend heading for the Cape Verdes or by chance because he was blown astray.
Again I am torn with what he may do - Head for Senegal or stay put - but certainly I trust he will not head south as Tiger suggests.

I think that the osprey police should arrest him in custody for a few weeks just to make sure.
Hi all - Note your post Tiger that Stan will be exhausted so hopefuly he will just rest and fish and recover from his flight. Roy has so many contacts - it wouldn’t really surprise me if we hear of a sighting or even get a photo of him – that would be marvellous. Very interesting though to see what he does – will he stay or move on!

He has just performed the fastest migration for a juvenile ever. They were going on about Alba and Stan cut her time by more than half. He must be a very very tired osprey. Definitely the Abebe Bikila of the osprey world.
Things are so fickle. This morning we are celebrating Stan's achievement wheras we could easily have been mourning his loss.
I will be anxious regarding the next update to ensure he is alive and well and enjoying life in the Cape Verde Islands.
Ceulan still in Senegal. Details on Dyfi Facebook page. GE to be updated later today.
Birdies LG DU update.
Do we get a Blue 44 update today aswell. He seems to be in a good place for the moment. I will catch up on JSBs spreadsheet at lunchtime

I do not expect Blue 44 to move any time soon. They usually stay over for about a month.
