This Topic has been set up to follow the Autumn 2012 migration and wintering of satellite tracked ospreys, other than Caledonia and Alba from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread, Tracking Caledonia & Alba
This topic replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Mar-Aug 2012
N.B. There are still some missing details (and possibly birds) which I will add once the information becomes available.
Here is Stan on Cape Verde Islands
Tiger Signature
How many miles as the Osprey flies is it from Cape Verde to Senegal. I wonder...that is perhaps two birds we know off, IF Bynack is still with us, living on Cape Verde. When Roy says breeding ospreys living there does he mean they no longer migrate?
Thank goodness!! Wow, what a bird. I do so hope he stays there now, but he will have a long journey back to Scotland in two/three years time!

The Cape Verde population does not migrate.

Hope the link works.
Apparently the Cape Verde Ospreys start breeding in November, I read it somewhere a couple of weeks back but can't find the link again.

Sat track schedule Spring 2014
LG 7 days; RW & SWT nil; LDOP varies
Thanks Alan, bit of a shame if Stan stays but I guess alive and increasing the osprey population is the name of the game. Maybe he is another of the many Scots dreading independence so has moved before it happens :))
Staus of the Cape Verde Ospreys
70-80 pairs of ospreys at that time.
