This Topic has been set up to follow the Autumn 2012 migration and wintering of satellite tracked ospreys, other than Caledonia and Alba from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread, Tracking Caledonia & Alba
This topic replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Mar-Aug 2012
N.B. There are still some missing details (and possibly birds) which I will add once the information becomes available.
You are certainly doing your homework this morning, SHEILA. The photograph is brilliant and I think you are right about the number 8, but then, not too sure.
I have spent far too long just surfing!! With no cam to watch at LG I can explore.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
WendyBartter said: I cannot quite make out the full darvic number, but is clearly is an AA perhaps 8. I wonder who it is. Hi Sheila - you have intrigued me with this - looks like a possible 5 to me and I have been searching various sites but can find no reference - someone must know so will have to wait patiently!!! [/quote] I read it as AA8. From references on the Northshots website, I think Fearna is from a nest very near their base - which is in the lower reaches of Glenfeshie, not far from Feshiebridge & Loch Insch. I hope Roy Dennis will provide a bit more information now that she has started to migrate - the new pages were hopefully going to be up later tonight.

Piret has left her Black Sea stopover and moved on to the Nile delta. Erika and Ilze (formerly OSLV02) are as before:

Tore's early route :-)
I've only just realised that the reason I haven't seen Piret is because she's well on her way to her wintering area, ALAN posted a map a page or two ago and here is the latest, she's in Egypt:
