This Topic has been set up to follow the Autumn 2012 migration and wintering of satellite tracked ospreys, other than Caledonia and Alba from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread, Tracking Caledonia & Alba
This topic replaces Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Mar-Aug 2012
N.B. There are still some missing details (and possibly birds) which I will add once the information becomes available.
Tiger Thanks, done. Cheers!
Swedish osprey 57375 still not left on migration as at 23.08.12. Latest fix SW of Lake Hammarsjon:
Latest on 13 from the Lakes:
"Latest data from 13's transmitter shows he has been over Bass Lake, and taken an 8 mile journey East towards Threlkeld, presumably following the River Greta. Activity seems to be greater in the early mornings, and late evenings....interesting stuff."
Latest positions for Erika, Piret and Latvian female OSLV02:
Latest from Rob Bierregaard:
Updated maps for 2 Ospreys. Chip (NH juvie) is migrating! Cutch (Long Island) is giving us hints of his origins: http://bit.ly/I2OR71
Beatrice after reaching her wintering home on The Guadiaro has taken an unusual trip out over the Mediterranean then headed NNE.
Rothiemurchus has started heading south and at present is around one of his favourite places at the river south of Dalston.
Beatrice's brief stay at her wintering site may have something to do with the very high temperatures experienced in the south of Spain over the last two weeks. Maybe the water level in her river has been badly affected?
Her 'summer' in Scotland was also the worst weather for ospreys for some time. That too may have had an affect on her normal routine?
(She was last 'seen' at a large reservoir!)

Sat track schedule Spring 2014
LG 7 days; RW & SWT nil; LDOP varies
Some more background on Erika:
"Erika is a female Osprey (black plastic ring 85), breeding in one of the most productive nests in Estonia. Also that is one of the oldest known nest for Ospreys here.
A wintering area of Erika is situated in eastern Sudan, not far form Ethiopian border. 2009/2010 winter Erika changed a bit the wintering area, moving southward, to the Ad Damazin reservoire for second part of wintering season. Probably because of drought. 2010/2011 she wintered in well known place at Ar Rahad river again for all season. "

EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
I was reading today that due to high temperatures in the US, the river fish were dying, because the river temperature was 40 deg C.
