This is a big weekend in France for 'migration watch' with numerous observers out at all the best spots so if Fearna is on the move she may well be seen.
Best wishes
It's organised by the LPO in conjounction with Birdlife international. There are sites all over France (& the rest of Europe too) with an experienced bird-watcher present at each site to count & identify all the birds seen. Everybody is invited to participate. Unfortunately they've forecast rain & winds for Brittany which is then coming down towards La Rochelle late tomorrow, but there are always the enthusiasts who turn up regardless. We're off to La Tremblade tomorrow to see if we can catch sight of a few Ospreys!

LuckyWhite13 update. Since the search team scoured the area pinpointed by the satellite co-ordinates and found nothing, no evidence of Lucky or his transmitter, we have another mystery. Now listed on spreadsheet as 'location unknown - missing - no data'. Many thanks to Sergio Moran (Rescue Centre Manager), and Pep Canto (Natural Park Ranger) and their helpers who conducted searches.
EDIT: Chris B asked Richard, on the blog for news of Bynack.....his reply stated, "none I am afraid".
I hope you do catch sight of some ospreys, NOISETTE - how about more than a few? ;-) And I wonder if you'll take your camera?
Thank you, Noisette. That sounds a really excellent event. Although the RSPB are listed as "partners", I can't find anything about them organising a similar event. I've looked up La Tremblade in my road atlas of France and it looks a good spot for ospreys. Do hope you saw one (or two or....)
Our luck was in & we had either 2 sightings of one Osprey or saw 2 Ospreys, I tend to think the first. It was quite misty a lot of the time so no details about rings or anything. We took the cameras but no chance for piccies, too far off. We also saw 4 crested grebes, some sandwich terns fishing, & lots of cormorants. We had a picnic, so it was a nice day out.
Glad you had a nice day and saw at least one osprey, even if in the distance, even in the mist it must have been a super experience :-)
