Am so relieved for Stan
Just checking back a few pages to make sure I haven't missed anything, and was reminded of this:
Hazel b said:Stan is just trying to beat Alba.
Prescient yet again, TIGER ;-D
Yours spreadsheet is fine for me, even on a small screen - thank you JSB :-)
IMAGICAT
So happy and elated about Stan reaching the Cape Verde Islands, if the news comes in from LG that Bynack is still there shouting his head off, that would be the icing on the cake. Now we have to wait and see if Stan is going to stay there though! With his flying capabilities he will probably keep going!
JSB your spreadsheet is just fine, I can click on it to enlarge and it fills the screen and I use XP.

I am absolutely amazed at STANs journey -
I wonder if Ospreys ever intended to go to Cape Verde or they ended up there because they went astray a little.
Do posters think he will stay put or get his bearings and fly to mainland continent Africa afetr a rest.

When you look at the map, it is incredible that he even managed to find Cape Verde! Yet when you look at his tracking points, it is as if he knew exactly where he was going - he headed straight for it from the Canaries.
<shakes head in bewilderment> Birds are just utterly amazing.
Rachel - I am thinking the same as you and not sure if the destination was his intention or did he go astray - I suppose we will never know.
Is Stan a young osprey of this year?
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Deshar did the same and LG were hoping he would land on the Azores, but he missed it :-(
Sandra, yes, but he was only made public shortly before the migration. He only appeared on my reports on 15 Aug*, probably a few days earlier, I shall edit in the date, in a minute.
* EDITED
Tiger I like your optimism that stan is going to find Bynack :D I can imagine now scouring the cape verde islands looking for him ;)
