This thread has been set up to follow the travels of Caledonia and Alba, the young ospreys raised at Loch Garten in 2012.
Their mother is “EJ”, the resident female at Loch Garten since 2003; there is some doubt about the identity of their biological father, given EJ’s dalliance with a male from a neighbouring nest, Blue XD, both before and after the return of her regular partner Odin, who raised them.
Caledonia hatched on 16th May and Alba on 18th May; they both fledged on 14th July.
This is a link to the Loch Garten blog describing the ringing and satellite tagging.
Caledonia’s ring is Blue/White AA1, reading downwards. Alba’s is Blue/White AA2, reading upwards.
Following the tracking
This page gives a quick overview of the routes on a map, which will be more useful once they start migrating.
If you want to look at the routes in more detail on Google Earth, this page contains instructions on setting up your PC to do this.
This blog contains some useful information about how the tracking works – we are now on a 3-day reporting period.
Fantastic news Roberto thank you! Look forward to all the pics :)

NO I don't have Google Chrome Tiger, I once used a friend's computer who had it and I didn't like it much.
I hope Caledonia comes back to Scotland after her 2 years to breed, but then again if it means her having a productive life by staying in Spain then I wish a long life in front of her.
MARY I have both Firefox and Google Chrome, but mainly use FF. I had to use Chrome after an FF update a couple of years ago when I could not access the webcam, horror! I also have a Google translate on the FF browser but it is not as intuitive nor as quick at Chrome.
I share your views on Caledonia!! If she stays there I can see that Manu will be kept busy on his guiding holidays!

Thanks Shelia I have a shortcut to Google Translate so will use that in the meantime. I thought there maybe was something on the webpage that I wasn't picking up that let us translate into English.
I just pray for Caledonia and that all will be well with her, as I can remember how excited we all were when Rothes was sighted at the Sturgeon Farm, we had such high hopes for Rothes, but alas they were all to no avail.
