Hi all: Here's to a problem-free week on the site. Check out the last week's final page or so for updates from everyone, including one from Maureen (HillaryH) who's back with us after a hospital stay due to a chest infection and wants directions to Google Earth. Maureen - assume you downloaded GE before? If not, just go to http://earth.google.com/ and click on the Download Google Earth 5 button at right. I can't remember right now how to load Rothes and Mallachie's route; perhaps someone else will let you know if you need additional info. Glad you're back!
Alan posted a hummingbird link (http://vimeo.com/hummingbirds#8409299) for those who missed it and the week's chat ended with a long post from OG, who'd been composing it for days but was unable to get it on the site due to the techy problems! And no OG, haven't attempted the printer-wireless problem yet; can only handle one techy problem at week it seems!!

Alan: Wondered what that tractor(?) was in the background! Didn't realise it was a golf course, havn't had time to read all about the Florida site but they are great pictures. Nice to see a bit of sun, too!
Tried to download some pics of my garden in this amazing amount of snow, but as usual, they won't co-operate. Will have to get to grips with how to crop things, maybe thats the answer, then there won't be so much info for it to cope with. Have managed in the past to at least 'turn' them the right way round, when taken sideways.
Our road is still almost impassable except by the brave, even the milkman came in a different vehicle to collect the week.s money this morning. We have also had our bins emptied, but alas they are evidently not taking any of the piles of paper or tins/bottles, yet. (not that there are many bottles in our bin, ahem, well, not many anyway, it has been Christmas, y'know...)

Lindybird, Glad to hear your bins have been emptied. Ours are still here, buried in the snow and now don't know when they will come to empty them. We have had more snow today and there is no chance of taking the cars out. No gritting here but when I look at Scotland, I realise how lucky we are.

Thanks to everyone else for various links/info. It's taken me a while to catch up tonight as I wasn't here last night. We went to Workington to see the Sherlock Holmes film, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The cinema is on the north side of Workington so no problem about getting across the river (haven't been to see the temporary bridge yet and I haven't fancied visiting Cockermouth yet either, the streets are full of skips, rather depressing even if it's not your own house contents in there).
