Weekly Chat, Sunday December 13, 2009

Hi everyone. If you didn't check the last few pages of the previous week, it was very busy. I'm going to catch up all the latest posts after dinner.

  • Hi, auntie,  Hope you are OK and not too cold there!  We have had a heavy frost here in NW England, but not enough snow to 'stick' on the ground: some proper snow forecast for tomorrow, though.

(You must have meant 'wound' as in winding up a clock, musn't you- but your English is very good!!)

  • Hi Gary.   If you are all talking about paper Christmas bells which open out from flat, I still have one, too, from years ago. I can't part with it but don't put it up any more, it just sits in the bottom of one of the decorations boxes.

  • My mum's dog Poppy "enjoying" the snow in Kent:)

We had some of those as well Linda but NOTHING could compete with our musical bell:) I remember also real branches painted silver and hanging from the ceiling with decorations on. I admit to not enjoying putting the chains together....

  • Gary : Nice pic of Poppy. Looks like there is slightly more snow in Kent then here on TI.

Djoans : Lovely card and so appropriate.

Auntie : We think its cold here when it gets to -1 cant imagine what your temps are like.

Both the ospreys were on the nest when I last looked at the Florida Dunedin cam.

  • Morning all: Djoan: Lovely card - thank you! Patriciat: What a talented Mum. My cards and plug-in tree are up, but only starting food shopping today.  OG: Oh yes! Crepe paper garlands that we'd stick (badly) in the corners of the room, twist and twist then wrap them around light in middle of ceiling, then stick at opposite corner and have to adjust because one string hung lower than the other.  What would Martha Stewart say? (U.S.TV doyenne of home decorating/entertaining  - I've never watched her show.) Where are you going for Christmas?  Gary: Stapled paper chains? Very high tech.  Alan: Yes!! Folded paper bells! Oh my.  Auntie: "Meidän on aina vakuutteluihin Pariisin"  (That's supposed to be "We'll always have Paris" in Finnish, courtesy of online translator. How did it turn out?)  Diane: Thanks for link to Bilby site (a long-nosed rat, eh?)

Big Pacific storm about to pass north of us but undoubtedly will continue on across country; hope it doesn't hit Gary/Diane/Caerann too hard in the next few days.  I see there's a bad one just south of you guys today. In the meantime, high thin cloud and diffused sun here; high temp expected around 68F/20C.  Must start day - take care everyone!

  • Lindybird: Go get that paper bell and hang it up right now!  :-)  Gary: Nice poppy photo (isn't that much snow in Kent unusual?)

Hi Lindybird, thank you, that is what meant. Hope you get decent amount snow and not too much.

    Gary, lovely Poppy!

  • Have a good day shopping Annette, good luck out there.

That storm to the south is coming our way later tonight and snow is forecast.....

  • Annette, it is unusual for Kent, don't normally get much at all.

OK, off for some exercise. Poppy says thanks for the comments, she thinks she is pretty.... LOL
