Hi everyone. If you didn't check the last few pages of the previous week, it was very busy. I'm going to catch up all the latest posts after dinner.
Oh AQ, that Santa story is too funny!
Alan: Thank you for posting those links for me again. I must be having browser issues as I could get neither Osprey link to show a picture, though everything else on the page is loaded. No problem with the Blackwater cam, however. Strange things, these computers I guess. Lovely photo of the snow, btw.
I think there was more I had to say but can't recall what it was. Oh well, back later then. =O)
If Santa with his tummy rolls has been around for so long, why should I worry about mine? Oh yes, that's right the summer clothes shrank in the wardrobe. Maybe i should dress myself in a big red jacket . . .
On the Decorah cam there are 2 horses (?) way in the background. Something on 4 legs they are, but not sure what. =O)
Hi! OH put up tree and its lights Thursday evening, so Friday morning kind of disappeared in decorating the tree while he took a trip to the tip – sorry, “recycling centre”! No snow, bright sun and temp reached +5 at midday! Birds had a great day in the garden – especially Robin searching where some of the rubbish had been lying. Rain forecast here tomorrow!
Went to Tesco this afternoon – not very busy there. This evening put up some other decorations – and that’s it till they come down! I like it when they come down because the rooms look bigger!!!
Persuaded Son to decide which days he will be here for New Year, so sorted out my menus.
Alan – enjoyed your snow picture - very nice garden I notice in all your pictures. If that wasn’t a goshawk at Store Mosse, I don’t know what it was!! Haven’t had time to check Whooper blog today – maybe tomorrow.
Margobird - most sensible to call off your trip – better safe than sorry – or black and blue!
Everyone – good to hear from you – take care all. Goodnight.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
OG We got +5 for a short time midday. Snow flurry and hard frost now.
Alan P I hope you are not letting Thunderdog Hamish out in the snow without a coat, after his recent haircut. Lovely picture of your garden in snow.
Goosnight all.
Hi everyone.Margobird: Sorry to hear the trip to London is off. Of course it's better to stay safe than to travel in bad weather.Gary: I'm glad you liked the joke. I'm reminded of a comedy dishtowel we have somewhere in the house. This is a joke letter from a mother to her son, with lots of great one-liners. The end says: "P.S. I'd have enclosed some money but I've already sealed the envelope.AQ: The Santa story is hillarious. Has the academic ever made comments about the Easter Bunny's diet, or the tooth fairy's house-breaking activities?OG: I can totally relate to the comment about the room looking bigger when the decorations come down. I have to confess that as a child I used to bawl my eyes out when the Xmas decorations came down. Mind you the decor in our living room in the 1980s was very drab, so I suppose I had a good excuse.Happy Saturday everyone!Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
AQ, some people need to get some perspective! and a life. Have a great weekend.
OG, glad your decorations are up.
Paul, another great line. You need to find the tee towel and drop in the one liners when we least expect them!!
Happy Saturday everyone, stay safe and warm in this snow.

Probably, the silly stupid idiot. Doesn't he have kids (or grandkids)? What's wrong with a bit of fantasy in our lives? BTW, in Aussieland we also have Easter bilbies, started by some anti-rabbit environmentalists. The chocolate versions look rather sweet. (Tasty too)
aquilareen: Agree with you about maintaining a bit of fantasy and whimsy in life! I had no idea what a bilby is, though, so I googled. They are the cutest things ever. Their ears are adorable!
Here is a Bilbies Not Bunnies page with an explanation of the Easter Bilby, popularized by an Adelaide author! Page includes a pic of the Easter Bilby. http://members.optusnet.com.au/bilbies/Easter_Bilby.htm I hope the conservationists are able to save the bilbies!
Just read that their big ears keep the bilbies cool. Hey, AQ, you need to grow bigger ears!!!
Evening/Morning all: AQ: Sounds like the academic was having a little fun - I hope. I did all my ironing yesterday afternoon watching - yet again! - Casablanca. OG: I remember as a kid gluing paper chains to string across the living room - what do folks do there now? Heron: Sounds like you were still a twinkle in your father's eye when I was gluing paper chains together in ultra-dreary 1950's Watford! :-)
"My" room now piled with stuff I had packed during the remodel; but where to put it all. Had leftover Chinese for dinner; not terribly substantial and just had to refuel with large bowl of granola and half-and-half (half milk/half cream). Yummy. Have a good Saturday folks - where did this week go!!!! Stay safe and comfy wherever you are!
