Weekly Chat, Sunday December 13, 2009

Hi everyone. If you didn't check the last few pages of the previous week, it was very busy. I'm going to catch up all the latest posts after dinner.

  • Good morning – bright and cold here (but not a frost).

Patriciat – still thinking of your beautiful Fly and wishing her well.

AQ – if the heat didn’t get me, that humidity certainly would!  Sorry you are getting so tired with sleep deprivation – but it is causing your creative side to blossom re Twelve Days of Christmas!  Just noticed the downward swing in humidity – didn’t realise it could change so suddenly!  I suppose the heat dries all the moisture from the air, whereas when we have humidity here up to about 65-70 it stays there for weeks.

Lindybird – thinking of you enduring the pushing and shoving at M&S – hope you got a good parking space!  Is that the one at Cheadle?

Tiger – thanks for the link to all those Wildlife pictures.  Eagle is awesome, but I have to admit to a soft spot for the giraffe – especially the way it reveals on the screen as you scroll down!!

Auntie – thanks for link to Santa and Rovaniemi.

Gas Service happening as I write!  After that, a quiet day, both at home.  Might get decorations down from the loft after cleaner has been this afternoon.

Where is A P this morning??  Maybe he’s collecting Lady P from the airport.

Everybody be careful in extreme weathers in South and North hemispheres – keep safe and well.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • That was sudden - he appeared as I mentioned him!  Good that he knows what he needs to do to welcome his lady home!!!

  • Morning everyone

I was away for the day in York yesterday - had a lovely time ... but wet. I've just been catching up on all the chat, pics and info from yesterday ... what a wonderful site this is :)) ... thanks!!

We have had a few snow showers here this morning, and the wind is bitterly cold ... blowing in off the North Sea when I was out earlier and felt as if it was coming straight from Siberia :((

I too am a great fan of starlings, I took this photo of them having a bath in the rockpools beside St Mary's Island in the summer.

Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

  • I was in York about a month ago. It is a lovely place. The Minster and the walls make is a special city.

    Fantastic picture of the starlings.

I cannot help wondering whether the eagle or the starling won.

I think the tiger is rather nice.

Some more nice pale male pictures today. See http://www.palemale.com/
