Hi everyone. If you didn't check the last few pages of the previous week, it was very busy. I'm going to catch up all the latest posts after dinner.
Thanks Alan that gives me even more reason to feel positive about Mallachie.
Margobird
thanks everyone for the evidence of tags going wrong. That has helped my mindset:) Thinking positively.
DjoanS - Haggis slices are quite common – I think some people (especially B&B hosts?) serve them at breakfast. Actually, some are made by our best haggis butchers, and are quite useful if you are only feeding one or two, or as part of a mixed grill!
jsb - lovely woodland greetings scene! Thank you. Later … poor Ben Fogle – wish him and Marina well, and the wee baby – my dentist is called Ludo!
Alan – Collar doves are getting more frequent here now too – must be less food out in the fields. Tried photos of two together yesterday, but they separated every time I turned the camera on!
(tried dove photos here but didn't show - will try them separately)
Margobird – pleased you are feeling better about your Christmas preparations now – you seem to have it well in hand! All germs banned here – I hope – had my second piggy flu jab last week and we seem to remember I had nose bleeds after the first one also (I get two because of suppressed immunity). Been feeling fine all day, but thanks for your kind thoughts.
Brenda H – OH went outside to fetch food for us from chest freezer and the Blackbirds all lined up on the fence to remind him that their food is also kept in the garage!
Auntie – Brrrr – that is seriously cold!!! Perhaps you should wear two woollie hats!
Sandy – thanks for checking West Africa weather for us – no wonder they migrate – I think I would too if I had wings!!
Gary – there are some very nice “novelty” rubber gloves on the market – “glam” with faux fur, feathers or sparkly bits!!!
Annette – don’t feel guilty – we’re happy for you, so enjoy your sunshine – it seems to make you a very sunny person!
Richard’s Blog – no news is not the same as negative news, and in Richard Hesketh’s talk last week (re tracking Whoopers in Iceland and Caerlaverock) he had many examples of birds shedding tracking devices. I am still hoping for Mallachie (and Nethy).
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Yes, me too, Gary. As someone who has an almost daily argument with inanimate objects, most of which are 'modern & technical' , I have a healthy suspicion of gadgets & computer chips being bound to go wrong if they possibly can in any way...
Raining here now after a grey & damp day. Went to visit my sister-in-law, who was babysitting her very young granddaughter, who has such a lovely smile & a little giggle for me- suddenly all's right with the world when you see such innocence & merriment.
Collar doves almost together!
Dove in a dish!
Hello.Alan Petrie: I'm sure that Mallachie is fine, having been reassured that transmitters have a tendancy to malfuntion. Thanks for the info.Original Goldfinnch: Those are gorgeous collared dove photos. We get a lot of collared doves in our garden, although I never seem to have the camera to hand when I watch them.Paul
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Great photo's OG:)
Not been around much but had fun catching up. Annette, I enjoy hearing your weather as well.
Catch up tomorrow and happy Tuesday everyone
Nothing overnight? Hope our transatlantic and antipodean friends are all ok - not suffering frostbite, heatstroke, flooding or fires. Take care all!
OG Well done you with the pictures of collared doves! We sometimes get abou a dozen at one time, vacuuming up the bird food.
Thanks to all who sent congrats to Tweed and get-well wishes to Fly. Fly seems OK now, though I havent asked her to jump yet.
Couldnt get into the blog last night. Did anyone else have problems or was it my system?
