This Topic has been set up to follow the Spring 2012 migration, and summer activities, of satellite tracked ospreys, excluding Rothes and Tore from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread.
It replaces this earlier thread, Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Aug 2011 - Feb 2012.

I'm sure others have other ideas for the Dynasty at Rutland but not Glaslyn
Vespa When the first translocations took place they were mostly males as it was felt that if you had males then the females would turn up. Well they did but it was only to have a stopover and get fed by some of the Rutland males most like 8 (97). Rutland had also got incredibly bad luck with females. 99 (01) went to Piper Dam in Scotland and 06 (01) disappeared after one breeding season.
I think that the formation of the breeding colony had something to do with it turning around. Remember how 02 (01) went on a grand tour of osprey nests at Bassenthwaite and the Borders area of Scotland. He clearly felt that something was missing at Rutland.

No problems Tiger, thanks for the link to Tore - I am saddened. Before we left for Spain we managed to hear about early returnees and now we are catching up with the news. Missed the main Osprey season and realise how difficult it has been for them this year with the awful weather. Had a lot of sadness catching up and a couple of special moments. Regards

The weather this year has been something else. There were at least two mornings when EJ looked frozen solid and completely soaked on many more.
