This Topic has been set up to follow the Spring 2012 migration, and summer activities, of satellite tracked ospreys, excluding Rothes and Tore from Loch Garten, who are followed on this thread.
It replaces this earlier thread, Satellite Tracked Ospreys (non-LG) Aug 2011 - Feb 2012.
Alan That is fascinating information. Thanks for taking the trouble to keep up with the Swedish ospreys.

Since 2006 the Swedish project have provided three males, three females and twelve juveniles with transmitters. They also say that it is no easy task to get a young osprey with a transmitter to survive to breeding maturity. It has taken them 15 years to find a young bird (and/or transmitter) that survived until the age of 3. This bird carries the transmitter code 57375.
Alan, Thanks for all that information. 15 year is long time to wait. Let's hope that 57375 is successful next year.
Its frightening the mortality rate and highlights how precious the adult birds currently breeding are

Hey Alan - to think I was in the area last weekend. What fantastic news. Now I'll have my eyes to the skies whenever I head up there. Ospreys really are on my doorstep. Thanks again.
