Hatch at Seili!!!!!

Good News from Dyfi reference another nest.

BLUE HF a 2010 female chick from Tweed Valley (Ringed 5/7/2010 at the main nest) spotted around the Dyfi Nest this morning.

There were two chicks at this nest at Tweed Valley in 2010 but the other was not ringed as it fledged early before Ringing Time.

It is pleasing to hear of these returns. Apologies Alan if this should have been on Osprey Sightings - I was just thinking of other nests (Tweed Valley).

Thanks Keith for this information, its always great to hear of ringed birds returning.

Although I didnt start watching Ospreys until May 2011, I was on holiday in Melrose from the 3rd to the 10th of July 2010, and although sunny the wind was blowing a gale the whole week, so I find it very interesting to see that Tweed Valley did infact manage to ring their birds during these winds.

I did visit Tweed Valley Osprey Centre in 2011 and found the staff went out of their way for the visitors, also spoke to them at the Bird Fair and once again they were brilliant, it is well worth visiting if in the Borders Area, you cannot see the Nest but there is a HD Wide Screen Camera in the Centre, also has a cam on a Heron nest, and Blue Tit box.

1st hatch at Kielder nest 2:

"Nest 2 has its first hatched chick. Observed at 15:30 today. Other two eggs should hatch soon now."
