Dunedin male:
2nd hatch at Aberfoyle, just tweeted:
"2nd osprey chick hatched this morning. :-) "
After the sad news yesterday from Dyfi there is some really good news from Threave:
"Good news for Dumfries and Galloway #ospreys the newly established Threave pair look like they are incubating :-) E"
Update from Glaslyn. This pair are the unsung heroes of ospreyland with 3 fledges every year since 2008 and another 3 on the way this time.
"The rate of growth of the chicks is astounding, from tiny, fragile chicks to active large chicks in no time at all! The parents are busy building up the sides of the nest so that the chicks have more room to manoeuvre and the colouring is darker with the pronounced white stripe. The female is sheltering the chicks with her wings acting as a sun shade in the recent hot and sunny spell and the chicks spend a lot of the time sleeping.
Other Osprey have been sighted yet again and hopes are growing for more ‘families’ in the valley."
Very good news, Alan In all the worry over other nests, it's lovely to have positive news.
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
First hatch for WDFW ospreys

2nd hatch at WDFW.
Update from Kielder here
All going well for the 3 little humbugs at the Latvian nest:
Just looked in on the Estonian nest, which I hadn't done for some time what with all the drama at the Dyfi; Piret sitting tight on the eggs in the rays of the setting sun, - lovely sight!
Has anyone been taking note of when these eggs will hatch? I have completely lost track.
1st Estonian egg laid on 7th May so I make it day 28.
