She was unringed, so no definite ID. But we do know he has accepted her, whereas he has chased other females off the Threave nest!
Pleased she has come, as this may be only successful nest in Dumfries and Galloway because Caerlaverock female abandonned her eggs this morning in very cold wind. I phoned the Centre and they say she was being harrassed by several intruders and (new) male wasn't around to protect her every time it happens. They hope she might try a second brood - if she realises these eggs have got too cold. They reckon it would not be too late (and this applies to Threave too) because of our Solway climate and abundance of fish.
[/quote]Great news there is a female at Threave anyway OG but shame about all the hassle at Caerlaverock. A definite case of 'watch this space' at both nests.
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
A new blog at Dyfi. It discusses some very interesting subjects.
Tiger Signature
Thanks for the link Tiger. It always makes me a little sad when I see an Osprey with orange eyes.....dear departed Henry. The look on Monty's face is so funny. Nora is ready for the eggs to hatch methinks ;-)
Loch Garten stats. and All the important links for LG.
As always, a brilliant blog from Emyr. Tiger.
What a fascinating and brilliant blog You always get such great "stuff" from Dyfi Thanks TIGER for the link
Thanks Tiger. Yes that was an exceptionally good blog from Ems. Nora's behaviour is absolutely fascinating isn't it? The more these birds teach us about themselves the more we realise that we have only just touched the surface.
Super blog from Dyfi, they've set a high standard. Thank you TIGER :-)
IMAGICAT
Absolutely brilliant video of Nora trying to feed Monty!! The look on his face was priceless! :-)
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Third chick hatched at Glaslyn this morning

That's great news Sugar, all 3 hatched despite the awful weather. I hope that we can say the same soon.
