I'm sure you are right, RACH, that breast pattern is much deeper than I visualised it, now that I look again. I always have only half an eye on what I'm doing :-(

Unknown said: the parents left the eaglets and stopped feeding and they had to have fluids and be hand fed by the biologists. I know a lot were watching until the cam went off-line and I was. Things looking better now :)
Thanks for that news B&B, I am very relieved. I usually rely on Razzle's video uploads to keep up with those lovely eagles and was worried.
I know the most important for all of us is Ospreys but I do find this fascinating and sad

I cannot find the link for them being given fluids and hand fed by the biologists, amazing but I think now the parents are back. Thanks lowry and fascinating.
Found it if anyone is interested

Brilliant, B&B, thank you very much! :-* Super video. I found a Facebook page but couldn't see anything up-to-date there.
It's great that there are nests where the eaglets could be "transplanted" if necessary - when the father owl died at Starr Ranch, southern California, Pete the ranch manager went out every day looking for suitable nests for the 5 chicks but couldn't find ANY, so he decided to climb the tree via ladder ("only" 40ft, that eyrie is much higher) every evening and put roadkills and trapped vermin into the cavity, he ended up having to buy in dead rats. But ALL 5 chicks have fledged, a very happy ending.
Sorry to digress.
scylla thank you and I watched that nest and I am being honest when the camera went down I lost touch but yes amazing that eaglets could be transplanted but in this case the parents did come back but need more info as not sure how things are. So good to see the care for these birds.
scylla a lovely end to your story and wonderful how someone cares so much and he must be so proud :)
Maybe should not be on here but wonderful and I hope a good ending to Richmond.
scylla Your Starr ranch story reminds me of another dramatic event. There was a pair of peregrins called Calypso and George in Canada in 2000
Now Calypso got killed by lightening and George was left to raise the chicks by himself. They did try to help him by leaving him dead pigeons but he did not touch them.
Story is here

Wow, thank you TIGER! Very emotional, but mustn't get waylaid (I'm telling myself sternly!). Such beautiful birds and amazing and tragic stories.
