In response to the demand for an osprey chat thread I am now making one for September 2011. I guess there will be quite a bit to chat about given the success of the extension thread.
Tiger Signature
Moffer Very good point. I still have the feeling he is heading for Africa but do not shoot me if I am wrong! :)
I guess we will find out quite soon.
Well, I for one hope you are wrong TIGER , I would like EVERY UK Osprey to over winter in Spain like SHEILA does.
Thanks for the map MOFFER - it's very good to see that pink X marking the spot
Cirrus You can see why Beatrice stays in Spain since she is a bit slow. Not so AW he is fast.
Yes, TIGER. I wonder why she is - just personality I suppose . AW is obviously the Hamilton of the Ospey world . :)
Well, gotta make tracks, see you all later.........
Hi ALL. Interesting speculation as to why some stay in Spain and not continue to Africa. Perhaps the ones that go the shorter distance have more sense :)
ChloeB & Tiger's Osprey Data
Today's update on the blog, by Richard.

Have a good weekend everybody.
Loch Garten stats. and All the important links for LG.
Not a lot of change then. It does tend to be like this. A made rush at the start and then a quiet period before the big push to Africa.
I have been reading but not posting recently, so Hello to you ALL.
Chloe, I prefer your reply on an interesting topic, but doubt if we will ever know the true answer.
Yes but if all the ospreys wintered in Spain that might limit the number. Swallows fly to Africa don't they? So does the cuckoos who are now being tracked by the BTO.
Tiger, you are being logical :-) Never having been to Africa, I visualise it being so overcrowded with birds. I would just love to do the Rutland osprey trip though.
