I offered to start this Topic before my own trip to Scotland, so thought I'd better get on with it.
The idea - somewhere to bring together people's accounts of their visits, photos, useful information, questions from those planning a trip - a sort of scrapbook really.
I still need to write up my own visit, but anyone is welcome to post material or links here.
A great visist is The Potting Shed at Inshriach Nursery - for a fine pot of tea and cake on the edge of Loch Insh and rated as one of the top ten tea rooms in UK by The Observer.
And a few minutes away can watch the Ospreys on Loch Insh.
I can seriously recommend quad biking at Rothiemurchus - as long as you can handle being out-performed by your teenager!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

I know its been recommended before previously on this thread, but for any not reading back, The Mountain Cafe in the main street in Aviemore is very good, soups lovely and the cakes are delicious, a nice selection too, they have their own small car park, and if you cannot get parked in it, there is a car park across the road behind the row of shops.
