I offered yesterday to start a new Topic once Bynack had fledged, but as we now have the updated Satellite Tracking page, and biography pages for Tore and Bynack, and there are some tracking results for Tore on Google Earth, I’ve gone ahead with it.
A brief introduction to the ospreys we’re tracking – first, the class of 2011.
Tore – link to her Biography
Tore is the elder of this year’s juveniles, her ring is blue/white 48. She fledged on Tuesday 12th July aged 54 days, and has started to do a little exploring.
Bynack – link to his Biography
Tore’s younger brother, ring blue/white 47. Bynack is aged 53 days today and has yet to fledge.
Edit: He has fledged, at 10.18 am today 16/7.
Rothes – link to her Biography
Rothes is the eldest of EJ and Odin’s offspring, hatched at Loch Garten in 2009. Her ring is white/black PJ. She migrated as a juvenile to Guinea-Bissau, and spent her formative months on the small island of Unhocomozinho, in the Bijagos Archipelago. Now a sub-adult, she has travelled north to Europe for the first time this summer and is currently in the Gironde estuary in SW France, where she also spent 6 weeks on her way south in 2009. So far, she has not returned to the UK.
Rothes' earlier travels were followed in this thread, now closed.
Any news from LG on these birds - I for one and others are not allowed to download Google earth for travel security reasons and the countries we visit but are still interested.

Maybe they bought a cheap package from our donations that is not on the same periodicities as Dyfi and Rutland and HWT.
However it is very brief considering the inputs from other Trackers
I do appreciate fellow bloggers who have scientific equipment and attempt to keep us all up to date and I thank all of you fellow bloggers for this.
GE won't load for me this morning KEITH but I'll do a restart and see what happens..As far as I know the data went up to 15th and both Tore and Bynack were still where they were. Tore not yet having crossed the Channel and Bynack still fishing on his river.
Yes, it's disappointing isn't it but hopefully there will be new data tonight.
Bynack and Tore are updated until 15th September on Google Earth. They are both having a stopover.

Yahoo Tore is safely in France. Near Nantes. Other two roughly where they were.
Thanks Cirrius and I have already thanked Tiger - my response was on behalf of others who have asked me the same and for some reason can not or are not permitted to use google earth. I had no reply for them. They can now look here and see the latest - many thanks.
Unfortunately LMAC disagrees with the data and who are the other two.
Sorry Keith, I meant other two LG birds Rothes and Bynack. According to Jaynes post this morning on main blog all LG three are now in France???? Is this not correct and have I missed something??

Tracking Latest
All 3 are now in France.
Rothes is still around Bordeaux.
Tore set of into France and is at the river Erdre a tributary of the Loire, just north on Nantes.
Bynack is still on the river Mouzon, south of NeufChateaux near German/Luxembourg border.
We will keep you posted when there is news.

I've seen Tore at Wacker Quay on the River Lynher on two occasions now, once last Thursday (8th) perched on a dead tree eating a fish and again on Tuesday (13th) in the same tree and fishing across the creek - unsuccessfully on this occasion. Weather is clear here today with light winds so perhaps she's ready to tacckle the Channel...
