Daily Update (LG Nest) Wednesday, 13th July, 2011

Well, after a hugely exciting day yesterday and a record thread, what will today bring? Will Bynack fledge at 50 days old or will he wait for another day?

Guess we will have to wait and see. No prophecies from me as I am usually wrong....mind you, having said that, I didn't do too bad with Rothes and Rothimurchus migration times did I? :)

Ok, will stick my neck out and say Bynack will wait another day at least. Ok come on, prove me wrong Bynack! :)

BTW, Cirrus.  Did you notice my much, much earlier post about Bynack?

He lay on the nest next to Tore and yelled his head off at a persistent intruder to add his voice to EJ's.

I had you in mind when I was posting it!

    CIRRUS, this is for you.

Than you, Daisy Ray. My day has been very fragmented but I've tried to keep up.  Bynack does not look to be wingercising very energetically or vigorously and I really don't know if he'll fledge tomorrow (which I'm hoping as I'm out all day Friday and most of Saturday - hiking)  But then , lovely lad, he is five days younger than his sister so really and truly, he still has four days to go:)

  • Yes, I read the top of the previous page but don't know if I read your post - so much has gone on today. Don't suppose you remember the page number do you DAISY?

  • Well, Bynack's had enough.  Now will Tore come back?  She is calling in the distance!

It was a repeat of the one you have just answered, so worry not!

  • HAZEL   lovely large pic of Bynack early. My MWSnap wont freeze the live vid cam today so I have not been able to take any large pics. I have had to rely on the 'snap' device on my VLC video recorder which gives much smaller pics (better quality, but sadly, much smaller)

  • It's all gone, and no Tore.  She can't be hungry or she'd have flown back for some.

  • EJ calling - more fish, please, Odin; thank you!

  • Well, wots this ! We have EJ in the nest to be actually seen , calling to Odin.  But I can't see Byanck on any of the STILL cameras

EDIT   oh yes I can. I  didn't refresh. Both juveniles are sitting on the nest edge

  • CIRRUS what a pain for you :((  [I knew you'd like the pic!]

I'm a little worried for Tore - is she likely to return to the nest tonight??

  • Mmmmmm, HAZEL - now that she and EJ have left , I think not. I think she's going to join mother and roost (all grown up like) in the dead tree
