Well, it's now "tomorrow" and a new week, so I decided to start new thread because I don't often see this hour of the morning!!
Just been through all today's photos with OH: some good Damselflies but having a difficult time sorting the birds!
Really must pack up and go to bed . Have a good Sunday, everyone - and don't miss Gary's Saturday photos of Toffee on previous thread. And please join with prayers, candles, positive thoughts for Isidora (see QW's post on page 22).
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Evening all: Hear that Mr. Murdoch thinks his company's response to the phone hacking matter was very good, but that he's annoyed by the continued attention and fuss. He's sounding more and more like the CEO in the BP Gulf oil spill who was reassigned after claiming he wanted his life back! Grrrr.
Diane: Apparently Minnesota is back in business. Meteorite Man is on at 9; I'll check it out. Thanks.
AQ: Yes, when we get over 100 (very rare right here) it's dry. Currently, we're having yet another cooler-than-average summer with coastal overcast hanging around until 5p.m.!! Sunnier days ahead though. Ha! Soon the airlines will be charging us for the viruses we pick up on their planes! Elastic chocolate mousse sounds a little on the chewy side. :-) Love the Friday smiles!!
Lindybird: More lovely pix!
Margo: Oh dear, sounds like a case of "Been there; done that; got the virus." Do hope you start feeling better very soon. Sounds like a cozy B&B is on the agenda for your next visit to LG.
Tiger: Can't imagine anything worse than arriving in Los Angeles by bus in the middle of the night! That Greyhound station isn't exactly in one of the most secure neighborhoods to put it mildly. Daresay you wouldn't try that again now. Norms, eh? A classic diner style restaurant; family owned and founded in 1949; their La Cienaga location is an architectural landmark.
Have read all chat and thanks Lynettte, Alan, and anyone else I missed. Take care and have a lovely Friday!
Good Morning. No weather here today- its grey and still, could do anything really.
So pleased that you are feeling recovered now, AQ - and Thanks for the Friday Smiles! - especially like the one about the weeds - grrr! Nice that you enjoyed your meal. Rubbery mousse is still edible but not as good as fluffy.
Lynette: Glad your daughter is feeling better now and going back to work.
margo - Give that little Billie a cuddle for me!
Diane: Buzz's secret for living long and looking good - sleep whenever you can, preferably in the middle of the hall, where everyone has to climb over you to answer the door & the phone. Eat whatever is put in front of you, fast, and more besides, if you can find it on the floor, or in the garden. Drink green slimy water when you are out for a walk. Run about manically whenever you are out, especially if your owner wants you to appear calm and well behaved. Jump around and shout loudly, whenever anyone comes to the door - especially the dreaded Postman - grrr! Be especially noisy if your Dad is asleep during this. Be sure to leave plenty of fur around on the carpets, even when your owners have just hoovered round the entire place. You need to keep them fit, too after all: they need the exercise.
I'm off out again this morning, so expect Bynack to fledge whilst I'm gone... have a Good Day, All.
Sorry to read just now on the DU that SHEILA is suffering & taking pain killers - hope you are OK Sheila.
Good Morning All. After a very cloudy and cool day yesterday, the sun is shining this morning.
AQ, Good to hear that you now feel so much better. Love your advice to Margo, " don't breathe on the plane". It is terrible the way they use recycled air on planes though, we just don't know what we are inhaling. Thanks for the Friday smiles.
Tiger, Thanks for your latest episode, although I do feel quite exhausted just reading about your long journey.
Lynette, Pleased to hear that your daughter is fine. Enjoy the cricket and the Ball.
Margo, I hope there is some improvement on how you feel this morning.
Linda, Love your description of Buzz. Our dog, a labrador, always thought he knew better than me on deciding who was allowed into the house. If he didn't like the person, he would lie across the room door and would keep staring at the person and growl if they moved. He would then always keep betweeen me and that person. I always trusted his opinion though and I did feel safe with him around.
Just heard on the news that Rebekah Brooks has resigned as CEO of News International.
Hope you can all enjoy today.
I see the winner of the £161, 000, 000 Euro Lottery comes from Falkirk. Anybody missing, from that area, today ???

Didn't one of the big lottery winners from a while ago also come from Falkirk?

Good morning all and thanks for all the chat. I am pleased to say I feel a little better today I think all the antiobotics have started to work now. The coughing which has persisted for so long is not so bad now and I can at least talk for a while without coughting and spluttering.
Tiger have just caught up with Episode 8 and so enjoying this story.
Lindybird will give Billie a cuddle and tell her it is from you. She loves her cuddles and when she wants one she lets us know by miaowing at us. Cutest little cat I have ever known.
Lynette thanks very much think we are getting the right medicine now as I do feel a little better. Hope the weather holds for the charity cricket match and that you enjoy the Summer Ball. Think Sunday will be a quiet day for you to recover.
AQ you are probably correct about catching germs on planes. When we went to Italy in March to see a carnival that didn't happen anyway, I came back with the same sort of bug. Seemed much worse this time around. Think what the doctor has prescribed this time is at long last starting to work. Like you I haven't felt well for weeks. Pleased that you have fully recovered now but what a nasty little germ. Love the Friday Smiles.
diane thank you for your healing energy which along with all our friends on the forum must be working as I am starting to feel a bit better.
Annette thanks to you too. I will get right in the end I am sure.
Brenda was so pleased to read that Rebekaa Brooks has resigned, about time too. Now they are reporting that this may have been happening in the US. Opened a whole can of worms now and how despicable that this has been going on for quite a while now.
Have a good day all and weekend, not sure I will get on much Saturday or Sunday so I am hoping that Bynack fledges today.

Afternoon all and thanks for all the earlier chat and pics. Not had time to catch up on everything yet as we went to Barnwell CP this morning where we again saw the kingfishers. What wonderful wee birds they are. Here are a couple of pics from today:
The swan family with the 8 cygnets has now moved on from Mill Lake to the river but we now have a new family with two very young cygnets.
Thanks you Alan for a wonderful set of photos.
So glad to hear that you are on the mend at last, MARGO. Sometimes I'm tempted to wear one of those face masks on the plane; we have been ill with colds & snuffles so often after travelling.
Alan: Great photos, how super to see Kingfishers - & I have copied your gorgeous baby cygnet.
