LG OSPREY GABFEST Fri, July 8

3:50 am Fri Scotland; 10:50 pm Thurs Ohio USA        Good morning and welcome to the second edition of our new chat thread home away from home. You will notice the name has been shortened.  This sounds like a keeper to me.  What do you think?

With morning breaking over the nest and background, all is quiet as Tore & Bynack preen themselves.  Will today be the day Tore (6 days the oldest) takes to the sky for the first time??  I just don't think so, but then whenever I venture to guess the future behavior of any of our family I'm usually wrong. Lots of exciting watching in store for us, anyway.

  • Hi June, I have gone back on the thread and have missed so much, I like you Sunshine have a feeling about Garten and Mallachie, it could have been either one or both. As you said the Interlopers could be from EJ's broods, heading home.   I am sure Garten is ok and totally convinced of that, Mallachie, made the destination and then no more from the transmitter, so I think there is hope Sunshine, I believe and always will believe it had stopped working and hope to see that ring turn up and if not, always have the belief.  If Garten or Mallachie  was identified and still think one was at Dyfi this year but they could not identify. I cannot express the JOY I would feel.

Picture of EJ and chicks wounderful they are all eating as a family and wonder how they will fair when Odin brings his tough luck on them. They have wanted for nothing and what brilliant parents EJ & Odin are. I do know that usually Tore gets the Fish but Bynack finishes off and neither hungry.

    Goodness sake another fish lol

  • Forgot to say June love to see your observations and very much appreciated

  • 7:55 pm  Three birds with their heads together, eating peacefully and chatting all the while. A flutter of wings and Odin arrives with, you guessed it, another large fish.  He doesn't stay long.

  • OH, MY!  One chick on nest eating.  EJ (I believe, not positive) flies in.  With fish, ? again not positive.  She is immediately attacked by the chick, who flies directly into her face - not once, but three times, knocking EJ off balance.  EJ recovers and flies away.  Chick is eating again - alone.

  • It is very vocal on the nest. One on the nest now but do not understand, very strange the noise.

  • JUNE we love the gabfest lets keep it going .we can talk about any subject, that reminds me i logged on to ... the hancock wildlife foundation and checked the bald eagles.. are you familiar with it. its based in vancouver canada

  • BRIGHT & BREEZY, I will take your suggestion and renew THE GABFEST.  Right now, I will start a new thread, same name LG OSPREY GABFEST, but without a date to become outdated.

SUNSHINE & B&B   Comments continued on new thread
