Daily Update (LG Nest) Saturday, 18th June, 2011

Things all peaceful on the nest.  It's amazing what a late night fish does to settle Osprey chicks :-)

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • It'll still take two hours (for about 2 minutes worth of video, I kid you not)

  • God bless your tenacity Cirrus (and all who post videos for us non-video-taking people!)  Reading through the posts, to take videos means you can't watch what's going on at the same time (did I digest that correctly???)

To try to keep on topic, nothing has really changed on the nest since the last feed, still a tad windy and drizzly :(

As a newcomer, EJ & Odin amaze me, let alone the youngsters. All your long-timers must get bored of our (my) questions and observations about EJ & Odin!!  So thank you for your patience  :)

  • Okay, I know I'm not well but hallucinating???? I'm sure Cirrus, you just posted a video, which I was about to enjoy watching but had to nip off for a minute and was about to settle here again to enjoy watching but ... now it's gone.  Please tell me Im not going totally mad .....

  • Raining again. I cant help thinking how much easier it is for 5R at Manton Bay than it is for Odin to fly up to 10 miles to bring a fish back.

  • Alan, Odin has to fly up to 10 miles to bring a fish back??  Wow!  No-wonder you all call him Odin The Magnificent.  (I, at least, have to make that mere 1.5 hr journey to Manton Bay to try to get some logistics on all of this).

  • Hazel : Last sunday because it was raining 5R caught 8 small fish just yards from the nest which stands on a pole in the water. Apparently he was catching one for the chicks then immediately going back and catching one for himself all in front of the hides.

  • Yes, you saw correctly HAZEL -  I discovered I could still copy the video code and paste it into the forum as one does , but, when I tried to play it myself there was simply a message which said ''This video has been removed because it is too big'' Sorry, much smaller one coming up in about an hour.

  • Hazel:  Dont worry about asking questions, that is the only way to learn   :-)     - lots of my questions were answered kindly by those already on here when I started.   And sometimes you might ask something that the rest of us don't know!  - except for those on here who are experts, thank goodness.

We are All learning all the time about our wonderful Ospreys  -that is why the Site exists anyway, and the webcam, so that lots of knowledge can be gleaned about their behaviour.

  • Cirrus -- sorry to hear that you are having probs with your vidoes - what a pain - good for you, to keep trying.  You'll get there!

  • It might as well be yesterday :(

Cirrus/All, did I not post a video of the late-night fish delivery?  I told you I was confused :-/  I'll have a look-see what happened.
