Things all peaceful on the nest. It's amazing what a late night fish does to settle Osprey chicks :-)
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Hey Barbara: The chicks seem to wake up each morning then suddenly realize the other is there, have a good stare, then settle down again. No fighting thank heaven.
Barbara: I know the feeling; however, the lack of fish does give me a chance to do other stuff. It'll probably get busier once EJ goes fishing and the chicks start wondering what's over the side of the nest.
I have seen Star bite EJ in the neck a few times. EJ just shakes her head and turns away. I expect at least one confrontation between them before this season is over. I expect it will be when Star is learning to feed it self and EJ still wants to feed them.
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Maybe it's like that period that human toddlers go through when they can bite and hit - sort of testing the waters.... Oh funny - chicks are still huddling under EJ.
OK guys, well NO FISH so far and I'm off to bed.
G'night Barbara Jean; everyone else, have a lovely Saturday.
EJ looks tired. Her sleep is periodically disturbed, she's buffeted as if on a stormy sea. I expect she'll build up her strength once the chicks are too big to worm their way underneath her.

No you aren't! Wouldn't have wanted to miss the dawn photos yesterday - and what about Annette's brilliant capture of the GEMS earlier this morning (our time)? We have so much daylight this time of year - especially further north - that anything can happen, just about any time. Like Odin's late-night fishing trips. They seem quite happy to take advantage of the extra daylight, unlike us limited humans who need (if we don't always get) our 8 hours a night regardless of actual day length.
FISH @ 0633hr (I have the video to prove it. )
There's an unusual event - I'll keep you guessing, it's near the start. The stream froze so it's only shortish.
Wide awake and looking for trouble (or, preferably, breakfast).
EDIT - I see I just missed a fish delivery (this was taken after Scylla's delivery time). Must have been a tiddler, unless it escaped - no sign of a fish by the time I looked in about 6:45.
This was too funny but I was too slow to capture it.
EJ stood up and Storm pushed it's head right under Star's tail . With a flurry of wings Star stood up and glared at Storm, as if to say "What do you think you are doing?" . EJ then tried to find a way to cover Storm . Storm still wants the comfort of brooding.
