Daily Update ( LG) Monday 6th June 2011

It is raining  on the nest and Odin is 10 minutes late with breakfast :)

  • What a lovely scene ... EJ preening in the sunshine ... chicks sprawled out, completely stuffed ... and birdsong in the background! Just as long as that cuckoo doesn't start again tonight ... it went on ... and on ... and on, last night, and got right on my nerves!

Thanks for the heads up Trish 2!

  • I could have sworn that EJ flew in with a FISH 5 minutes ago - but she dumped it on the "wall" just out of shot on the right-hand side, so was it a stick?  I've checked if anyone else here caught it (not the fish itself, but the delivery ;) ).  EJ is standing on one foot surveying her sleeping chicks (see Joan's pic above) - if it was a fish, no-one's hungry.

Woodpecker, your bluebird is so sweet that it was stolen days 'n days ago - don't you dare "upgrade" your sig >:(

  • Scylla - I didn't see EJ flying in, so I'm no help!

This should be the lunchtime feed that ended around 12.45hr today.  I'm afraid it's a silent movie cos I had Debut set to record audio from microphone when (I assume) it should have been speakers.  The total length was over 22 minutes, I had to cut it down to under 15 minutes so I clipped out some of the repetitive feeding when the 2 chicks were at the top of the slope early on.

    No fights!

Oh!  No video :'(  I cannot for the life of me embed the video *yowl of frustration* no matter which link I paste.  Advice please?  I've found a video placed by another member, it begins <object width and appears to be the "old embed code", which I'd already tried but here goes again:

    <object width="560" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4_vmxkhYxHw?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4_vmxkhYxHw?version=3&amp;hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="349" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    <iframe width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4_vmxkhYxHw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

That's all the options, I think, and they don't work *sob*

  • SCYLLA, I saw EJ fly in with a small stick, covered in bits of dried moss, about 30 mins ago.

  • Brenda, that's what it must have been, I mis-caught the glimpse ;)  Thank you Brenda.

Here's a serene scene, siblings side-by-side looking like badgers ;)

  • Aaaaargh - just heard the cuckoo ... hope it doesn't go on and on again!

  • Hi Everyone

Not long home from the office and just caught up - you are all so brilliant at capturing and recording virtually every moment of this special family's activities.  Sorry if I've been quite recently :(  but since I've still checked in on the webcam and your threads, here's just a little contribution taken about 10 minutes ago:

    Very serene :)
