I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.

Hi Tiger - could you impart your views on Windows 8 please?
I would not rush to downgrade to Windows 8. It seems to me that it tries to be all things to all computers and may well not succeed in that. Best not to rush into new products.

[/quote]Another one is IE10, when it eventually arrives that is. See IE10 coming to Windows 7 sometime, maybe
TIGER and CHLOE - very many thanks for the back up discussion . I have copied your posts to a folder . I shall need to read your post several times TIGER to make sure I fully understand it all. It's very comprehensive but I'm unfamiliar with certain terms/ideas
On the 'Sat track update' thread I said I would post an idea here concerning the frequency of the GE update schedule for LG, SWT and Dyfi. This excludes Roy Dennis birds, as I do not have a clear picture of the schedule at present.
I propose, something very simple that I would add to my signature box, which would be a reminder for all. I do not need to specify actual dates as the thread does that anyway, but I may need to say when the update was, if for example I am updating first thing in the morning and the update was the previous day. This aspect may need some fine tuning. I have the kml file to look at, but that only gives the date of the last fix, not the date of the download, nor the date of the GE upload.
LG: Richard said...." The current twice weekly data checks will continue to the end of October, thereafter, through the winter, the data-download regime switches to weekly. We'll keep you posted on how our girls are fairing."
SWT: Lindsay said...."With the end of the month rapidly approaching our satellite tracking will change from receiving data two days to every four days. With that mind we’ll now only be updating the blog once a week until the Osprey season starts all over again. Emma is taking a wee break from the blog so Ainoa, Jonathan and Cherry will be minding it for the next few weeks."
Dyfi: Emms said on Facebook...."Look out for an update blog over the weekend." (This weekend) Can anyone tell me what Dyfi have said officially, concerning the data frequency schedule?
I have made updates for Ceulan on, 12th from FB, 16th from GE, 19th from blog, 22nd and 24th. I shall have to check this out later, when I have time. Any help with the official data schedule?
I said it was simple, all that is needed is to verify the facts.
