I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.
Tiger Signature
Alicat I can feel the thrill here. Let it be a great lesson that persistance is what you need to learn. Most people give up too eaily.
Now everyone take some time and look over the technical thread and you will mind so much there.

I don't know what your main subject is, Tiger, but I think your teaching skills are the best I've come across. Considering I was actually intimitated by you weeks ago (please don't take that in the wrong way) I think you are a very thoughtful, very patient, tutor.

Anyone can do it. It is about learning to persist.

I have certainly got no objection at all doggie It was supposed to be a throwaway rememark when I said to Alicat "You can teach everyone else". Not so much of a joke now! :)
On the few forums I vist mainly to do with spiders the bold, italics and underlined are included on what would be the rich formatting tool bar at the top of the page.
Guess its just another quirk of this LOVELY forum that we use :)

However there are forums where you need to use raw HTML too. I can think of two right away.
I understand a little more HTML (I did say a 'little' more) now but several years ago when I was first faced with having to use code to make hyperlinks (posh links) I found it quite difficult to remember the formula. However after typing it over and over and over again it sunk in. Practice may not always make things perfect but it makes things seem a whole lot easier.

But the main nuisance is that I cannot reply to the forum, so to write this I am using IE. Windows update downloaded a lot of stuff yesterday, so it may be due to that. Anyone recognise these symptoms? If it is only me, then I suspect 'add-ons' are to blame.

Firefox is a lot better after I disabled all my 'add-ons/extensions' as per the diagnostics below. The conflict was poossibly 'Adblock plus' so I will slowly re-enable them in due course, with the Adblock left to the last.
