I have decided to start this thread for discussing technical issues that come up rather than messing up the other threads.
I guess the first issue seems to be pasting Word text into posting boxes.
Recently we have had three threads lockup up as a result of posts involving Word text.

Here is that box
You highlight the name by drawing the cursor across it. This brings up the link icon in the task bar. Click this and a menu comes up where you post the URL.
There are two ways to do it.
1. You empty the link URL box and then <right click> and <paste> the URL in
2. or highlight contents of the link URL box and then <right click> and <paste>
I then normally select it to open in a new window before clicking <insert> and that is the job done.
So, bless you, if you're still there Tiger:-
I copied the URL from the blog page, came back to this thread and wrote "this is a link to Caroline's great new blog". Then I highlighted that, as per instructions, couldn't find the link icon so went into 'use rich formatting' where I had seen a link icon, clicked the link icon from there and got the new box/menu up which gave these options:
Link URL : (Which comes upwith the new "posh" title I had given it.
Anchors :
Target : (Say's: Open in this window/frame)
Title:
And then two 'buttons'. Bottom left "Insert" Bottom right "Cancel"
So I'm confused where to paste the URL?
I guess I'm just being a numpty. Everything is easy "when you know how" !! If you've gone by now I will try a few different options of where to paste the URL and keep testing. Thank you, whoever the bright idea came from (Tiger?!) to have this technical test thread!! And for your patience Tiger.
Yes I am still around. You are probably not clearing the box before pasting in the URL
Oh, was so into justifying the detail in my last message, I hadn't seen your message at 6.20 p.m. Now, I shall go back and take that in, you have the patience of a Saint!
This is the box
Now the important window is the Link URL window
You either got to clear that before pasting in your URL alternatively highlight it by drawing the cursor across it and then <right click> and <paste> the URL in.
People could always try a very simple URL first like http://www.bbc.co.uk/
Thank you Tiger. That's the box I manage to get but the Link URL option automatically comes up with the "posh" name I have given so I thought to over-ride that would not be the right thing to do ..
So, I empty the link URL box and paste?
Yes that is right you got to overide the posh name.
Ok, here goes ..
Had you got the URL you wanted to paste in your clipboard?
This is a link to Caroline's great new blog (for the umpteenth time!)
