I wonder if the lovely wee bobble head will be joined by a sibling today :)
EJ half snoozing at the moment, protecting chick #1 from the elements.
I'm off to roost for a few hours. See you soon.

Yes, Tiger, slightly worrying - lets hope that there's good news in the morning. Two and three might just follow in quick succession.
Tiger: Re egg gap time, when I do 2011 Chick Stats I am planning to calculate the incubations in hours, so it will be interesting to see the results, since I thought that calendar days can be misleading.....the hours to be shown as days on the table, so 720 hours would be 30 days for example. Egg lays versus hatching gaps could be done as well, if people are interested.
30 days is not possible, in case anyone is confused, it is just easy mental arithmetic.
AS I type the webcam sound is crackling....sounds like someone is trying to fix it.

I was thinking along similar lines. I know the first egg hatched very early but the gap between first and second hatching is now over 72 hours and I do not think that has happened before. That said it was only the night sights which allowed us to see that the first chick had arrived on Thursday night. It could easily have been seen for the first time at dawn on Friday. That would have changed the statistics considerably.

Is that the plink, plonk of rain I hear!!!
I think the sound is rain. EJ is sitting tight tonight but has been wriggling about. Hopefully the second chick is hatched already!

Yes, good point, that is what I was thinking too Tiger.
