Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. I hope you all have a great day.
Do check back to last week's chat for OG's gorgeous wildflower garden pics And Lynette's pics of Dunedin & Hampton eaglets.
Linda - I love your pics of Tatton Park, especially autumn.
Alan -24 handbags!!!! Must be related to our Dau#2 who collects shoes & handbags. Me, I have one all-purpose go-everywhere shoulder bag. Plus the gold one OH gave me decades ago and saw the light of day at the weddings.
Brenda, Linda, Lynette, Joan, OG - On my first trip o/s I had a list of what to take. It helps remind me not to forget vital things like eye drops, film (nowadays it is memory cards & battery charger!). When I returned I noted what I didn’t use and now I check the amended list, pruning every trip. Why drag excess around? Invariably my room in B&Bs was on 2nd or3 rd floor. Besides I may buy things, such as jumpers - that’s my weakness. Stupid really because I knit them and the wardrobe is bursting. So, OG, I shall choose one of them. And camera almost lives in said all-purpose bag!
Joan - I heard a story of a local teacher who had 7 children in her class named "Amy" but all spelled differently.
SHEILA love your pics. Our vet keeps a special room when our friends have to be put to sleep. Always with some nice flowers and yes a back door exit which we used when Fingal was put to sleep.
A first for as long as I can remember, lots of Starlings on our bird table today, a lovely sight.
Like the new car very much
WENDY Like others have said, how nice you can give Tiger Lily the peace and quiet she needs
Just wonderful photos Sheila - I so enjoyed them. Thank you. There's a Willow Warbler currently at the nest - must have heard Radio Chaffinch had bogged off to your neck of the woods and decided to fill in :)
Enjoy your new car Dibnlib - what sort is it?
Just found out from the Main RSPB Site - the new Springwatch will start on TV on 30th May on BBC2 at 8.pm - all the usual crowd presenting, which will be nice, and its all from Mid Wales this time, so I'm looking forward to it.
Lindybird: Thanks for heads up on the start of springwatch. Will have to record that one as we will be going to LG as Rot Dennis is giving a talk on.......raptors.
Just popped my head out backdoor and there is Tiger Lily sitting under my bamboo and like an exocet she is at my door so opened a satchet. Only person that buys them even though a cat doesn't own me. Neighbour does live a hectic life so can sort of forgive her. She is a full time policeman has 2 daughters 2 dogs and is separated...her mum is 60 this weekend so is of sorting out prezzies etc
Nice bit of late sun but have lit the wood to take the chill off. Such an easy thing to look after I don't mind having to tart it up in the morning.
On the subject of woodburners....with another Bank Holiday coming up and OH taking a couple of extra days of I mentioned it might be a good idea to decorate spare bedroom and hallway. Bought enough paint when we did open plan living room. OH said yes and as it is not an enormous are I thought I could do other things...walking, shopping etc. But oh no when I got home today to my surprise he has ordered 6 tons of logs to come the Thursday before the BH.....knowing my OCD he is pretty convinced I will offer to stack them whilst he is decorating...crafty or what!!!
CIRRUS new car is a Volvo V50 It is our 2nd
LINDY thanks for news on Springwatch
Hello all Wendyb what a lovely looking cat. When we used to have cats our vet told us that kidney problems in later life are very common in cats. An injection of steroid every so often seemed to give them a little turbo boost for a while!
Very windy here today, heavy rain this morning but was at work so it didn't matter. Fine afternoon. The water dish that hangs in a tree is swinging wildly.
Margo glad Billie didn't disgrace herself while you were out!
Wendyb we crossed over whilst I was trying to remember who else I should be replying to! I reckon Tiger Lily definitely knows which side her bread's buttered.
Wendyb well, I would have thought it was no contest! Roy Dennis!! I think I had spotted his talk, and was disappointed to see it would be after my visit to LG. I will be over on the NW coast by then! Have a great time. Oh dear. 6 tons to stack, no doubt neatly too! We usually have four 'loads', but don't know the tonnage. Mind the old back! Sorry, that sounds rude. Just be careful, is what I meant! All that bending and picking up and placing can take its toll!
