Afternoon all: Geez. May already? This happens every year!
Sitting in garden with laptop! Under umbrella in shorts and trying to ID a pale pink hybrid rose I didn't think I'd bought but which is now blooming like mad. I went out to buy orange/apricot/peach and yellow roses and have no idea how this pale pink one got into the mix. Also, it doesn't have a little metal label, which the others do, and I'm wondering if it didn't get into the wrong bin at La Sumida, where I bought six bare roots. In the meantime, Amber Flower Carpet and Julia Child roses are doing brilliantly... Met friends for breakfast this morning: Had a egg-white and seasonal veggie mix - won't make that mistake again! Very boring and challenging since nothing stayed on my fork. Was forced to rectify the situation with a cafe au lait and a boysenberry and lemon scone!
Diane: I have a visor and a sweathshirt with a hood that I wear on windy days at the whale count. That's it! Daughter has several cowboy hats, including one with a woven decorative band she made from hair taken from Cimarron's tail (the horse she had to put down Feb 10). I'll check out Trucker Steve next.
Alicat: Bet you had fun with Bobbie. Have you sorted your naughty OH yet? :-)
Wendy: Dolphin visit sounds like fun.
Sheila: Argh! Take care of that knee. Geez. A 1.5 hour wait for food? Did everyone complain loudly? Apparently, several of our channels repeated the wedding video throughout the day yesterday; I'm watching the recording a bit at a time; can't stand to be inside on a lovely day.
OG: More fab azaleas! Good news that son is trying the part-time option; hope it works out for him. Really understand "more money than sense," which also applies to grandson who, sad to say, doesn't have much money, so .....! Still, he's young yet and as always, we live in hopes. Little vole looks awfully sweet.

Good afternoon everyone as you have seen I haven't been posting for some time mainly because after I got rid of my chest infection have been feeling rather listless and any time I have been sitting down I have been falling asleep even fell asleep once while trying to catch up with this blog. I have been able to take Diesel out for his walks in the park but with that and trying to keep the dust mights at bay that has been about all I have been able to do.
I have enjoyed all the chat and the pictures. On my walks thro' the parks it is lovely to here all the different bird songs so I must try to get something that I can put on my I pod so that I can identify them. I hope Hamish returns to rude health soon as he has been in the wars these last few months.
Someone was talking about how long they have had to wait for an appointment with a consultant I was supposed to have an appointment with my cardiologist in Noivember and last week I got a letter apologizing and giving me an appointment in July. I think that I am needing my medication changed and this is a factor why I am feeling so lethargic at the moment.

Oh George so sorry to hear you are still feeling under the weather. These infections can take a while to disappear. Lethergy can be a problem, and as you say perhaps it is your current medication which needs changing. Perhaps I could give you a little prod to go to see the doctor? Do take care. I am sure that Diesel is a great comfort, and perhaps encourages you too by demanding his 'walkies'. Oh, yes, I wouldn't worry about those 'orrible dust mites. They can wait their turn for attention. It is more important that you get better!

You all may be aware of this but thought I would post it anyway:
This link is for the Blackwater Refuge in Maryland. They have both an osprey cam and an eagle cam that they keep on most of the year. Lisa, their webmaster has been there for as long as I have watched (at least 8 years or longer). The cams are just the 30 sec refreshing kind but Lisa's blog is worth checking out now and then because she is extremely knowledgable and posts links and info about cams worldwide. This was the first bird cam I watched.
First, nice to see you bjane. Thank you for the link. There is a lot of interesting information on it. Do I take it that Bald Eagles are your first love? How did you come across this LG site so far from home?

I have loved this site because of EJ and her different mates, Henry, Orange VJ (if I remember correctly) and the magnificent Odin. Better than watching Soap Operas!! I always check this site because I feel that I know all of you and I love your blogs. Sorry that I stay on the sidelines but I have a bit of a complicated life and can not spend much time here but just reading your daily chats and weekly updates have cheered me up a lot when I needed it.
I'll get off now, but just wanted you to know that I can relate to everyone on here at one time or another. Thanks!

I think I became aware of LG in 2007, I cannot remember now exactly how or why, and it was only last year I actually 'dipped the toe' in to the nest thread because I happened to see something that most folk missed, and when the season ended I joined this thread and I am really glad I did. It's like having extended friendships where we can moan, share excitement, help shoulder sadness and have a general chit chat. So do feel free to drop in any time you like, or can find the time. Take care of yourself.

Long day and yet nothing done! Rain stopped in time for wedding from house across the road – their daughter was already living with her partner, but they suddenly decided to marry, and she set off from her parents’ home. We went to coffee morning etc. Heard the news that our Minister and his wife have their baby – a boy – all doing well. First baby born to the manse for 60 years! Got home for late lunch which was interrupted by Son on phone. Washed up, set oven to cook a tagine for tonight, made a congrats card. Sat down with coffee to email Gdaughter – and here I am, still here!

Annette – did you see Steve the Trucker where you wanted to? He seemed to take about 24 hours to get away from the area around LA (must have been held up by loading) but I think he reached Phoenix overnight.
Brenda – GrandDaughter needs 2 As and a B – is forecast for three A* and an A – so should be good enough for first choice, unless she has a total disaster.
Margo – sorry to read about the pond incident – I hope it continues well now. Agree about LotL blogs – they seem to write the same every day – I now there’s not much to say when they are incubating, but LG do it so much better and with real enthusiasm.
Lindy – has Buzz finished his medications now? Pleased to read that he seems so well. Gardening and dusting at the same time? please explain – I am imagining you in the back doorway with one arm in holding a duster and the other outside with a hoe!
Alan – I do hope Hamish’s biopsies are clear – poor boy, with two lots of stitches and yet more medications.
Sheila – may not have mentioned it before, GDaughter will be studying Psychology (but not clinical psychology). What does the blue sticky plaster do?

George – poor you, that doesn’t sound good.. I think (not that it’s any of my business!) you ought get a check-up with your GP before you see the consultant in July, especially with that appointment being so overdue.
Bjane – haven’t seen you before – welcome! Pleased you also love Raptors – and know so much about our EJ and all her partners (one of which was Orange VS – or simply OVS). You will have noticed we talk about anything and everything on this thread – and we find it a great support network of friends – and sometimes a safety valve when we get really annoyed and need to have a good moan about things! What's the difference between psychology and clinical psychology? The sticky plaster apparently acts as a support for a particular muscle or tendon - you often see athletes with it, sometimes around the knee or on other leg, shoulder muscles. I am not quite sure that it has done for me though! I'm still limping around the garden and am certainly NOT an athlete.
