Afternoon all: Geez. May already? This happens every year!
Sitting in garden with laptop! Under umbrella in shorts and trying to ID a pale pink hybrid rose I didn't think I'd bought but which is now blooming like mad. I went out to buy orange/apricot/peach and yellow roses and have no idea how this pale pink one got into the mix. Also, it doesn't have a little metal label, which the others do, and I'm wondering if it didn't get into the wrong bin at La Sumida, where I bought six bare roots. In the meantime, Amber Flower Carpet and Julia Child roses are doing brilliantly... Met friends for breakfast this morning: Had a egg-white and seasonal veggie mix - won't make that mistake again! Very boring and challenging since nothing stayed on my fork. Was forced to rectify the situation with a cafe au lait and a boysenberry and lemon scone!
Diane: I have a visor and a sweathshirt with a hood that I wear on windy days at the whale count. That's it! Daughter has several cowboy hats, including one with a woven decorative band she made from hair taken from Cimarron's tail (the horse she had to put down Feb 10). I'll check out Trucker Steve next.
Alicat: Bet you had fun with Bobbie. Have you sorted your naughty OH yet? :-)
Wendy: Dolphin visit sounds like fun.
Sheila: Argh! Take care of that knee. Geez. A 1.5 hour wait for food? Did everyone complain loudly? Apparently, several of our channels repeated the wedding video throughout the day yesterday; I'm watching the recording a bit at a time; can't stand to be inside on a lovely day.
OG: More fab azaleas! Good news that son is trying the part-time option; hope it works out for him. Really understand "more money than sense," which also applies to grandson who, sad to say, doesn't have much money, so .....! Still, he's young yet and as always, we live in hopes. Little vole looks awfully sweet.
Hallo also to Lynette. It's past 4; can now officially start new Weekly Chat!

Yes I realise that Tiger but was momentarily confuddled by your capture. I soon found out when I looked at the cam for myself :)

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, love the pictures of Bobbi and Hamish. What cute guys:)
Just catching up again.
Alan - love the pic o fArio and Vento and the chicks and also of Hamish, he's adorable. Betws-e-Coed, know it well as we used to go for family holidays to Abergele for years and its not far away. Used to go up into the foothills of Snowdonia and all round - lovely area. You'll have to let me know about the cottage, sounds a good spot. Been back since those heady days of my youth and its always a pleasure to be in that part of the world.
Gary - forgot to mention about the pic of TT and oh dash forgotten the horse's name - its lovely. Isn't she getting big now, almost not a puppy anymore.

Tiger wondered what you meant and then looked at the cam - Yes a Canada goose, lets hope the ospreys will still nest there after the fledging of the chicks.
Alicat - just love those pics of Bobbie, she's adorable.

I have started a thread for them here.
They will not stay long.

Going squiffy eyed sorting Spey Bay photos – got down to about 30 Osprey shots – now need to choose some to post! Possible solution – could post a few each day for about 10 days – would you all get fed up with them? Quality isn’t as good as I would have hoped – due to birds being in flight, stiff breeze, fading light – as well as poor photography.
The Ospreys had a lot of trouble with gulls following in hope of stealing fish. This one caught a fish in the river and took it to the shore of the Firth to eat, so had to defend it’s supper from Gulls and Crows!
This one was harried by gulls even when it didn’t have a fish!
Better photos to follow …
Everyone had a lot to say today! Will have to catch up on replies in the morning – OH is making supper drink now!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Nice pics OG.
Here is an osprey being mobbed by an oystercatcher at Avielochan a few years ago...
Chloe and OG, lovely photo's. Thanks so much:) Incredible to see.
Evening all: Just in from Mozart and Schubert concert - very busy pieces with lots of "action." Orchestra got a good workout.
Lynette: I've heard that your OH's condition is treatable; hope it is still at a stage where that's an option with a good prognosis. I gather it's painful and often worse when you're working out at gym, which I would find hard to deal with.
Wendy: Hope Daisy has a nice time at the kennels (and daughter the same in Turkey - is she going on vacation?).
Alan: Oh my, what fancy new clothes the bobbleheads have (that one is clearly suspicious of the camera). Mom is looking askance too. Handsome Hamish looks very serious in his photo (think there was a similar serious one not too long ago). I bet he acts silly when nobody's looking.
Alicat: Bobbie is very cute - she'll grow into those big ears, right? :-) So glad you're enjoying her.
Sheila: Nervy fox there; probably after croissants that early, but as you say, not something you want to be upsetting the local feathers.
Tiger: Can't make head or tail of that Montana pic and it's pitch black there now, but will check it in the morning. What was that odd little round spot on the bird's back/wing?
Chloe: Oh good, glad I'm not the only "thick" one around! :-)
Lynette: Thanks for posting the second Montana pix - that wasn't the bird shown in Tiger's capture was it?
OG: Squiffy eyed eh? Hope that supper drink straightened things out. Look forward to seeing some of your pix; bet your idea of "bad" photography is something I'd proudly hang on the wall if I took it.
Margobird: Your OH could telecommute; I just want him to arrange trips around Europe for me. :-)
Take care all; off to bed. Do hope you get some rain....
Morning Everyone: Sunny here although some clouds. Very cold. Had to get my bedding plants in for the night last night as temps dangerously near to freezing. Have had to put a cloth over one tub which I planted out already.
Can see you are all busy posting again - what a truly lovely pic of Hamish, Alan. He is such a sweetie. I'm off in a minute to look for the pic of Bobbie, mentioned above.
Annette: If you had told me last year you would be saying that you hoped we got some rain soon, at this time of year, I would have thought you had gone crazy!! - but it's true, we are all desperate now; and the crops are not growing very fast, and the veggies are getting more and more expensive in the shops as they are not doing their thing at all.... Rain forecast as showers today, and proper rain tomorrow and Friday, thank goodness.
