Happy Easter to all
Alan says. . . . Another hot day. Even hotter than yesterday with the temp now 24.8c .Hey Alan - Hot????? We call that "mild". Today expecting 23C here, currently 22.6C.
I have some catching up to do. My apologies to those whose questions I’ve not answered.
Sheila says AQ . . . . I love your travelogue! You are so descriptive and your photos are lovely too. I take it you have an interest in churches. Is this from an historical perspective, or architectural? Sheila - Both really. I like old things and I love the stonework and shape of old churches. I don’t go into it too deeply. Couldn’t name the styles.
OG says AQ . . . . Oh dear! Sorry the paint saga doesn’t have a happy ending. Is it just reflecting the colour of the carpet? OG - We thought at first it was just the reflection but we have laid a quite red Turkish mat across one end and paint is still greenish. We shall just have to buy more paintings and cover the walls as I saw in some stately homes in England. LOL
Hi folks, first opportunity today to come on. Church in the morning, son round for lunch, evening watching a bit of tele and relaxing.
Thank you OG, Lindybird, and ChloeB for your Easter Cards.
A VERY HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL
Read all your news and OG your holiday pics and commentary.
Alan - thanks for the link for the Golden Eagles and what a lovely pic too.

OG - just seen your second instalment of holiday. All very interesting and how wonderful to see the eagle soaring in the sky above you. Love the pics.
Evening again. Had good visit with daughter (and Oro); we did not go to friend's house; I hung out in the garden and sanded down the hammock stand I bought (it's a bit rusty and needs a paint job but nice and sturdy). Was sprinkling the dymondia and got another visit from a hummingbird who hovered no more than 9 inches from my hand!
Diane: Those floods are awful; farmland I assume? Spoke to my friend in Seattle yesterday and she said - in terms of rainfall - last summer was awful; this past winter was really awful, and this spring is awful too, even for Seattle.
Heather: Welcome back - are you any narrower? :-)
OG: Lovely pix! Sounds like you packed a lot in. Love those ducklings.
Well, darn. I wasn't able to get on the site until now. The entire site was down except for the cam. And now it's too late for replies. I'll just say, OG, extraordinary photos!!! Brilliant! See you all tomorrow. Happy Monday!
Site is doing strange things these days - is it the amount of people coming on here, in the holidays??
Hello Everyone! Happy Bank Holiday Monday - here are your Monday Smiles for this week:
Really lovely pics OG - I loved the lambs but enjoyed ALL your photos
Happy Monday Diane - it is frustrating when some folk seem able to get on to the site and one cannot
thanks Lindy :) :)
Poor little dogs though!!! why triim their face hair like that !!!
After all the fresh air yesterday and staying up late watching final part of “The World Accordion to Phil” (recorded) I slept very late – like until 9:45!
Pleased so many friends enjoyed a relaxing Easter Day! This site really was difficult at times yesterday – hope it does better for Bank Hol Monday! We were forecast drizzle, but it’s fine and sunny, so will get on with more tidying and hoeing - second time around - and get some flower plants potted on from seed modules.
Lindy - thanks for Monday smiles – only really liked the Pandas – first is just too quirky to do to pets, and I am sure second is posed.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Morning all ... thanks for all your Easter wishes and pictures yesterday. I couldn't get onto the site yesterday at all ... no way ... no how ... just the webcam :-(( Belated Easter Wishes from me ... now that I have got on here!!
Quite pleasant here at the moment, although we are promised rain by lunchtime! I just came back from taking my friend to work ... no buses on a Bank Hoiday morning.
Linda - great Monday Smiles ... love the pandas!
OG - lovely to hear about your holiday and see your photos ... I really like the one of the rocky outcrop ... love places like that!
Alan - thanks for the eaglecam link. I hope Hamish's limp has improved.
Annette - how fantastic to see the cow-calf pairs ... lucky you!
Thanks to everyone else for chat etc.
Take care.
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

Hello all - Returned last night from our two weeks of canal boating. We were delighted by the weather, even if we hadn't had the foresight to pack warm weather gear! Well, not a lot, anyway. Son and OH were Captain and First Officer, I was the galley slave and DiL was multitasking, including lots of lock opening. I kept away from the technical stuff which was probably for the best. Lighting the gas oven was as clever as I got. Grandson, almost five, had a fantastic time and by some miracle, didn't fall in the water. We enjoyed Llangollen Canal, Montgomery Canal and some of the Shropshire Union. Sorry, haven't yet become clever enough to post pics, despite the great efforts some of you have made to teach me. We ate out some days at some lovely lockside pubs etc and cooked on the boat some days. The galley was small but fully equipped and we made some easy meals such as lasagne, cauliflower cheese, stir fry chicken and vegetables, chicken breasts wrapped in pancetta etc. We even managed a tarragon cream sauce with the latter. Lots of salads and some nice breads and cheeses together with delicious chutneys and tit bits picked up from this deli and that deli. So Annette, to answer your question, I don't think that I am any narrower :-( The countryside was looking fresh and beautiful and after two days OH looked so relaxed and contented. We all relaxed after a few days, being away from computers and landline phones helped a lot! We visited the Cold War bunker at Hack Green and the RAF Museum at Cosford. These visits were arranged by Son as he knows of OH's great interest in these matters!
