EJ looking nice and comfortable on the eggs just now. Looks like she's using a clump of grass for a pillow. Fantastic innovation! :-)

Hi Diane. Hi Cirrus. Brilliant pictures :-)Night Annette. Have a brilliant sleep :-)
Paul: That dawn screen capture is extraordinary, just beautiful!
Cirrus, your image of EJ is lovely! Yes, gremlins about on the site today. I think EJ looks like she could produce a 3rd egg at any time.
Night, all.
Morning all. Colours on nest amazing at present and looks like a glorious morning at LG. Love the birds but am up same time as they are because of the dawn corous. Best time of the day.
Constant battle out there between Magpie and Collar Dove who is trying desperatly to defend his nest from morning till night. There has been a massive increase in Magpi and Jacdaw numbers in this area and the smaller birds dont stand a chance. Also big increase in numbers of Sparrowhawks who visit daily.
Have always fed the birds in the garden but am wondering if its such a good idea as obviously it also attracts the larger predators. Oh well must get on and walk doggies . Have a great day all. Hopefully egg NO> 3 before tonight.

yeah, but soon Jackdaw and Magpie's become over populated, so there's not enough food to raise their young and the number fall back down..
everything seems to happen in cycles..
this year we've got tons of Chaffinches and Goldfinches around here, not to mention Blue tits, and not that many Magpies or Jackdaws...it's just the way it seems to work
only problem we have here is with woodpidgeons, which we can't get rid of no matter how hard we try
@Diane
Lovely shot of the two eggs.I always seem to catch her nestling back down Doh!! so as have said before, appreciate everyones input.

P.S Nesting in full swing here in Devon.UK, Robins, Tits, Chaffinch, Blackbirds, Songthrush(ooh! have to keep reminding her to watch those cats, they have already sussed out the nesting trail along the hedging)not forgetting the wonderful Families of Tree and House sparrows.Finches etc.Also keeping an eye on the crows,jays magpies, buzzards and sparrow hawks.Amazing how they all compete.

Good Morning All. Thanks for the overnight and earlier posts and pics. Just had to look in to see if there was another egg yet before I go to the hairdressers.
