Sue C Thank you very much for that link. I always thought that the female (Monty's mother???) was a beautiful bird. She came from the Black Isle which was where Henry came from. I wonder if she is still alive as she allegedly did return in 2005. Although I cannot locate my copy of "Life of Ospreys" just now I think it is page 160 where there is a picture of someone trying to get to the nest to ring the chick.
I always remember the great excitement I felt when read that news in 2004. It meant a whole new experience for a whole group of people in north Wales.

2 chicks now at Seili nest in Finland.
Latest from Glaslyn:
"We are hoping to ring the chicks within the next few days and we have been told that they will be fitted with Blue rings this year, which will make them even easier to spot."
The chicks at Glaslyn were ringed today as reported on Facebook.
One of the rings was 79 white on blue
Not sure what the other two numbers were yet. I will edit when I do.
Glaslyn chicks have been ringed today:
Blue rings with nos. 77,78 and 79 on the right leg.
I was a bit worried about the smallest chick of FOUR (!!) in Hailuoto, cause yesterday he seemed to have difficulties to queue up for fish. But the recent pics in the Hailuoto forum are quite reassuring... little one seems to have understood now and sat in quite good position when the last fish arrived, if I see and understand it correct
Cats and women will do as they please. Dogs and men should relax and get used to it.
