Its clear that the changes to the LoTL blog, whatever the reasoning, have caused a lot of upset.
I would like to ask this...
Would you rather have daily news updates but no commenting facility? Or, would you prefer the blog to only be updated 2 or 3 times a week but be allowed to leave comments and receive responses from LoTL staff?
My personal view is that to expect the staff to provide daily updates as well as moderating comments & replying to questions is asking an awful lot. They do after all, have a busy visitor centre to run and (hopefully) a pair of ospreys to observe & protect.
No RSPB blog or for that matter any other conservation charity to my knowledge, provides a DAILY blog with comments.
Interested to hear what others think.

Evening all. We still have time for Lady to show up. I'd love to see her fly in first thing in the morning, but would be equally happy to see her show up any old time.
Waddowl: I'm not as regular a follower of the LOTL nest as I am of the one at LG so don't feel I can answer for those who are, but it will be interesting to read responses.
Well, no sign yet and the picture is very dark for some reason. Is the weather up there a bit miserable or what?
Will she arrive, or not!

Osprey been seen on the nest and it was a female but no definate ID yet.
To me that is Marge.
Tiger and Alan thanks for the news of a female osprey on the nest, would be wonderful if it was Lady. Alan how did you find this out, is there a blog somewhere that I have missed.

Thanks Alan you beat me to it. Interesting that the female is unringed so possibly could be Lady. Hope there is another sighting soon so they or we can ID.
Morning folks: Very interesting - thanks Alan for the heads up - are those boxes with the red X's in them the photos we aren't supposed to see or is there something wrong with my computer?
