Welcome to another week. Do check back lest you miss the pics of many and varied birds plus a certain Toffee. And lots of news of course. Diane had another thunderstorm.
Diane - Uncontrollable children in olden days. Children were sent out to "service" as young as 10. Of course they ran away, thus breaking "Masters & Servants Act". Probably broke other laws as humans do. There were probationary school from which they also ran away. I found some twigs on my family tree who were regularly in trouble with the law - for playing the wicked game of two-up in pubs! Their 13 year old brother went one better (ahem), he broke into a school.
Patriciat - So sorry your OH has fallen again. Don’t worry about moaning to us. We do understand. I’m sending blue skies and healing thoughts to your house.
Our spring bulbs are appearing - confused by the unseasonal rain a few weeks ago. Poor things, there’s another possible 3 weeks of hot weather (34C so far today) and winter rains are not usual until May.
Whoo hoo. Less than 3 weeks to OR Day (Osprey Return day). I wonder what soap opera saga they have for us this year!
Sorry folks you will have to put up with "wibbling on" for just a bit longer as I don't leave until 4.30am Wednesday morning. I am a big kid though as I am so excited. Yes retail will be done in Bath and Cribbs Causeway which is on the motorway heading into Bristol. It has a huge John Lewis and M and S.
Margo: Enjoy your break and don't worry about Billy Whizz as he will love you even more when you return.
Didblib: Enjoy Eden Court tonight and lunch tomorrow and your few days break with OH.Maybe treat him to the jacket as it might never get into sale. I am a bit worried about seeing Laura tomorrow as she will have time to look in her little book of torture..it's the only place she could find some of the things she gets me to do.
Went for a walk by and over the Spey this morning and I had to hold on to the bridge as the wind was so strong. Popped into see 91 year old Willy next door to warn him not to take his dog that way as he is built like a whippet and the next we would have heard of him was being blown down stream to Aberlour.
Back from haircut in Elgin and we have big Christmas snow...how boring.
Must go and unpack shopping, catch up later.
Our resident blackbird that woke me up singing at 6am this morning:
Alan, that will soon be 3am!
Margo if you haven't logged off have a great time.
MARGO Enjoy the show aswell as hol and remember to bring back a pressie for Billy Whizz!
WENDY funy you should mention it. that must have been the book she had in her hand when she had the evil glint in her eye. thought jacket had gone today but they had just moved it. Thought OH would succomb as I have splashed out on those pairs of shoes, but he remains resolute.
Just caught up will all the news.
Margo - a quick hello and have a great break and enjoy the show tomorrow - what are you going to see??
Alan - super captures and particularly of your blackbird. It was lovely to hear the birds singing away this morning about 6am - a sure sign that spring is on the way.
Diane - love the capture of your blackcap.
OG - sorry to learn that you are a bit under the weather - hope you are feeling better soon.
George - hope Diesel enjoyed his morning walk despite the small hail shower. Scotland seems to have more snow forecast, particularly in the Highlands. Winter started with snow and now its back again at the end of winter. Hopefully it will be the last.
Had difficulty posting yesterday as some of you said it came up with "server error" which it did for me once or twice. It seems to do that periodically, whether its because the system is overloaded, who knows???

Margo, Hope you are still looking in here. Do have a brilliant holiday and enjoy every minute of it.
Diane couldn't remember which bird you said it was but looked back and it is a black capped chickadee - he's so cute.
AQ - glad you made a spontaneous descision and have booked on a trip to Germany - one place I'd like to explore but probably won't get the chance. We are having to curtail a holiday this year due to pension worries but hope to go on one next year. Will probably have days out instead. Anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Gary - yet another cute pic of Miss T. Often they go for sleeping on the least cosy thing sometime. Our cats tend to sleep on old bean bags or my dau's bed at present then after a while they change over and often want to sleep where you want to sit!!!!!!
Just taken a shot of Mrs. Norfolk, turning and looking at her eggs but no sign of one cracking yet. She looks quite wet so rain must have been and gone.
and one of Mrs. Decorah
Just managed to get a quick one at Lily's before she hid her babies again.
The cam has just been in close again to Mrs. Norfolk, they must think that something is imminent.
Margo If you are still online, have a wonderful trip to Italy. Hope it's warmer than the UK.
dibnlib You sound just like my sister! Her OH looked at a credit card statement on one occasion and said 'This is not a criticism but is it possible you bought 6 pairs of shoes last month?' She had! I have very thin skin, especially on my shins, so wear shin-guards, which means I always wear trousers of some kind. Perhaps your shoe shop would have lovely shoes to suit trousers.
Will have to blitz parts of the house tomorrow morning for OT's visit - 4 Border Collies cast a lot of hair and come into the kitchen with dirty feet, Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I really hope we'll get some useful suggestions and advice.
Off to choir practice shortly so won't be on here again this evening.
