Welcome to another week. Do check back lest you miss the pics of many and varied birds plus a certain Toffee. And lots of news of course. Diane had another thunderstorm.
Diane - Uncontrollable children in olden days. Children were sent out to "service" as young as 10. Of course they ran away, thus breaking "Masters & Servants Act". Probably broke other laws as humans do. There were probationary school from which they also ran away. I found some twigs on my family tree who were regularly in trouble with the law - for playing the wicked game of two-up in pubs! Their 13 year old brother went one better (ahem), he broke into a school.
Patriciat - So sorry your OH has fallen again. Don’t worry about moaning to us. We do understand. I’m sending blue skies and healing thoughts to your house.
Our spring bulbs are appearing - confused by the unseasonal rain a few weeks ago. Poor things, there’s another possible 3 weeks of hot weather (34C so far today) and winter rains are not usual until May.
Whoo hoo. Less than 3 weeks to OR Day (Osprey Return day). I wonder what soap opera saga they have for us this year!
DJoanS - nice to know that a barn owl is roosting in the box, thanks for the capture. Been sitting in the conservatory the last couple of days but it hasn't warmed up today as its cloudy so will see a bit later on whether we can.
Gary - thanks for the pics of Miss Toffee, she looks very contented.
Margobird - Florence sounds wonderful. Son and his wife spent their honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast and Capri and just loved it. Have always wanted to go - might get the chance before too long . What a sensible idea working out what to see and where to go before you go and booking flights and hotels yourself. Afraid OH prefers to book more of a package deal but at least we try to do self catering so we can find our own places to eat out.
Early morning at Hilton Head and a few more pics .Worcester.

Giraffe at Djuma. Also elephant having a bathe watched by the water buffalo. Elephant at Tembe
Once EJ and Odin are back then we will all be watching and waiting to see what happens.
TerryM - well done for volunteering and getting on the programme. Enjoy the pre-season meeting and hope it all goes well for you.
Terry, Brilliant news ! I am so happy for you. Hope the meeting means you end up doing all that you wish.
Afternoon all a cold and windy day here we had a few flakes of snow here during the night but nothing like the snow up in the highlands. Last night it was that wet and windy that Diesel decided he would forego his last trip outside and just had a look out.
Did anyone see the programme last night about the introduction of animals into places where they hadn't been for many years it just showed what happens when people tamper with nature.
Patriciat I hope you get all the help you require after the visit on Friday.
Hope those going on holiday have a pleasant time and the rest of us keep well.
