Morning all: Much ballyhooed snow didn't materialize, we had a sunny day but very cold tonight with temps just below freezing. Spent the first couple of hours today online with Dell Tech Support after a website I clicked on (via Google) delivered a spyware program disguised as an anti-virus program (one of those things that suddenly lights up your desktop with alarming messages about threats to your computer). I ignored it and immediately launched McAffee to scan my computer, which found nothing. However, the spyware program (called Internet Security Essentials) wouldn't go away until Dell's remote support took over and did a super-scan and clean up (LOVE that service! So glad I signed up for it!)
Trish: They said it will take a while for the autopsies on the dolphins. Glad your OH remembered his training and sat still, even if Mia forgot!
Diane: Have never heard of the Nevada Triangle. Will certainly keekp an eye out for the program - we're watching DVD of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest right now. The UK is (it's rumored) is warmed by the Gulf Stream, which perhaps accounts for the daffodils, etc., while you're still dealing with weather from what I believe is called the Canadian Shield...
AQ: Our plants are in danger of drowning right now; have moved some of the potted plants under the eaves to protect them from any frost.
Lindybird: Had big laugh at image of you scraping your pizza off the floor - I'm a firm believer in keeping our immune systems challenged!! :-)) I shall be tuned in to the Oscars from the silly "red-carpet arrivals" pre-show all the way to the final curtain call, although I must confess to shouting a lot at the telly during the entire show. I think The King's Speech will do OK; Colin Firth was nominated last year for A Single Man but didn't get it; think he stands a good chance this time round (and if he doesn't get it, you'll hear me yelling at the telly all the way to the UK)!!
Margobird: Your sister sounds like a real gem.
OG: So glad you had a chance to make various plans with son.
dibnlib: "My fried egg has landed upside down on the floor?" Maybe that happens a lot in Russia? :-))
Hi to all I missed. Have a lovely Sunday!
Have been waiting for the following site to come back on again, they said 1 March and it is up live now. Think several of us have watched this over the years. 7 cams in total and one being a peregrine nest and from the look of the hollow in the box it would seem that peregrines have visited.

A bright and sunny day here - hooray! Got some laundry on the line so that there will be nothing outstanding when we return, always a bonus. There are daffs out in the garden, and those Christmas roses which hang their heads down, unfortunately, so that you have to lift them up to see their beauty.
Joan: Welcome back, laughed at your sign about the children - no, I havn't posted that one. :-)
AQ: Good to hear that the decorating is progressing - do we get pics of it when its all finished??? :-))
georgeg: Diesel sounds popular with the family - I think you and he are a couple, now! I'm so pleased for you both.
Alan: Loved the pics of the birds on the baseball towers. Hope Lady P is feeling better now, I know she was not too good a while back.
Brenda: Rome!! What a lovely surprise for you! Hope you had a truly wonderful time. And now youre back, its not too long before the Ospreys return.
Diane: Aaaargh! What a day! I am lost for words. You surely are a resourceful lady, coping with such dramas. I do wish you had had a doctor to look at that hand, though. Please make sure it does not get infected, later. Glad that the creek did not flood your house, that would have been a total disaster. I shall think of you whilst I am away, looking at your birds.
margo: What an Italian year you are going to have. But I have a feeling that the best bit for you will be the trip to LG...
Sorry if I have missed anyone out, but I shall be looking forward to chatting to Everyone on my return, and then it will not be long before EJ returns once again (and I wonder what will happen to the Lady of the Lake???). Take Care, and thanks for all the good wishes. xx
Morning all: Gray here with rumors of rain. Just spoke to my sister (it's her birthday today) in Lincolnshire and she said the weather has been awfully gray and - would dreich work there? - gloomy.
Brenda: You were gone for 12 days? Geez. Time flies. But a surprise trip to Rome sounds wonderful. Good for you.
Diane: Hope you slept better; do take care today; don't want to read that you performed brain surgery on yourself when I check in later! :-)
Lindybird: Have a wonderful time (forgot where you're going - Teneriffe was it?
Margobird: Love that you buy the kiddies shoes! My Mom, hard up as we were, always insisted on good quality shoes (usually Clarks) when we were growing up. Rhys must be a great source of pleasure and laughter.
Off to start the day; may go see Miss Molly - I got her a huge bag of carrots and OH (who doesn't like them) is wondering what I've got planned for the week's dinners, so he'll be happy to see them disappear from trunk of the car.
just done catch up, Diane what a day you have had,but glad to here that you are safe, don't know how you managed to stitch you own hand that must have been painful, anyway sending you lot hugs and take care of yourself

Another bright sunny day here and everything is drying up and in the park they have someone with a leaf blower going about blowing all the leaves off the paths so if it rains again the paths won't be slippy with wet leaves.
DIANE you are one resourceful lady maybe if we had you making the decisions about things the world would be a better place.
My son and his wife haven't seen Diesel yet but they are visiting at the end of the month and will see him then. I am going to keep him as it has made a big difference to how I am feeling and we both now understand one another. I had to take this thro' the window

Hi folks, thanks for news and captures Alan , glad you caught osprey on the Hilton Head cam.
Dianne - its all been happening in Indiana, glad you were not flooded out but it must have been scary, and to top it all, gashing yourself and self treating, well done, do hope the soreness has eased now its been dressed. Take care of yourself.
Lindybird - have a great break and come back suntanned and show everyone up after the miserable weather we are having in England. I believe Scotland and N.lreland are getting the better weather at the moment.
Margobird - glad you had a super day with your sister and Rhys, and so pleased he loved his new shoes and was proud of them.
Happy St. David's Day to any Welsh bloggers on here, I think we've got one or two??
Went to the gym for my weekly swim, bit of shopping, came back and flopped with lunch. Then put shopping away and sorted out what I owed OH from the B/card, rich for a moment, poor now, oh well, that's life. Nothing exceptional happening with me.

George - he's adorable and glad he is settling down and liking it with you. You've certainly given him a good home.
Annette - whale watching, how wonderful. Remember seeing one or two at Hermannus during our SA trip in 2008, quite a site. Fantastic to see 4 blowing all in unison, what a site.
BrendaH nice to see you back with us and glad you had a lovely break in Rome. One place I would like to visit - it may happen!!
DJoanS - hi, nice to see you around as well.
The unexpected holidays are always the best.
2 coming up of Mrs. Norfolk - quite windy there. Also 2 others of the Californian nests.
