5:30 in UK. Very late logging on tonight - but now that I have, we have two birds: One on the nest and another on the post. They're just sitting there. Let's see who shows up next!
Morning all!
Cirrus: It's Atta Girl! And apart from being a term of encouragement (long used in the US), that's all I know.

Hi Annette
As far as I can find out, it's a corruption/contraction of 'That's the girl'
Birdnuts: Sounds reasonable!
Thanks to Annette and Wattle for your pics and comments: we often miss bits as unfortunately, life has to go on, and we can't have the webcam on all day (husband: "are you watching the birds again??".......) The photos are v. good. We seem to have had a busy 24 hours with other ospreys involved, this time. Think Royal Rothes is a great title, by the way!
Oooh we have Mallache bouncing on the end of a branch.
as the camera pans around searching for someone else.....
No, back to Mallachie....who knows the camera is watching her!
Make the most of today because, unlike Sky+, there isn't a rewind button.
Two at the nest right now. One lying on the nest and one looking down perched on the camera post. I think both have aerials so they'd be Mallachie and Rothes but from this distance it could be anyone!
one chick just landed on nest. can see an ariel so either Rothes or Mallachie.
Thanks Tiger for the link. Makes quite interesting viewing, what a jealous boy he was but he had his own way in the end.
Thanks also to all of you for the capture shots throughout the day. I am sure my computer is going to explode soon saving everything that is being put on.

Just watched BBC1's The one show and there was a great piece featuring Roy Dennis about Scotland's golden eagles. At the end they mentioned Alma's sad fate, as she'd been talked about in the main film, recorded earlier. Definitely worth watching if you missed it, via the web.
I've posted this on the LG blog as well, to catch as many of you as might be interested.

"You have been removed from my Christmas Card list." "I also see you have started picking on Maureen about tripping over the cable....maybe you should go to Specsavers for new glasses."
"Birds of a Feather".... ~( :o )
