I am not sure if we should have separate threads for Rothes and Mallachie. If people feel we should the best start them right away.
The first data has been published on Google Earth and immediately it is amazing how much further Rothes has flown that Mallachie.

What the latest update looks like on GE.........
One thing I find odd about Rothes' Moroccan adventures is that up to now, she's never spent any time fishing in fresh water, but suddenly seems to have completely converted to it. Even when she's near the sea, she doesn't seem to go there.
The 9th April reservoir, which she's been criss-crossing in the last couple of days, is stocked with black bass, carp and barbel.

Sue: I know that the waters off the coast of Asilah are extremely polluted, and this pollution is known to affect the quality of the fishing in this coastal area. One of the sources is urban sewage, which is discharged into the sea without any preliminary treatment. Asilah Pollution
I don't know how much of this long coastline is severely polluted, but during her travels, Rothes may have gotten some tainted ocean fish and subsequently decided that fresh water fishing is preferable. Just a possibility.
EDIT: Ah, yes. Here's an article describing the pollution along Morocco's coast. Coastal waters have been significantly polluted by industrial waste, raw sewage, and oil. Large-scale destruction of wildlife has occurred. Morocco Pollution
Rothes is in France!!! Richard has just announced on the blog that she is near Bayonne.
Bayonne is on her southern track 2 years ago.
that is fantastic news.
As an aside a certain rugby player used to be known as the Bayonne Express (Patrice Lagisquet)
Thanks for the update - either she finally found a good tail wind, or the pull north suddenly got much stronger once she got across the Med into Europe :)) If she keeps going at this rate, she might even be nearly home by the next update.
Google Earth now been updated.
She seems to be headed to the sturgeon farm.
Here is latest position of Rothes on Google Earth
A close up of where Rothes is: Seems like a stopover.
