Tracking Rothes and Mallachie

The data on Google Earth has now been updated. It shows that Mallachie has been wandering much further afield.

Thanks Tiger. Looked earlier and no change! Good news to see Mallachie is spreading her wings and looking for pastures new.

Ah, everyone knows the Earth is flat...!

I presume you're not seeing any of the contours? The default Google Earth view is as if you're looking directly down, so they're not really obvious then.

To see the terrain better, you need to change the angle you're viewing from.

Hold down the 'Ctrl' button (usually in the bottom left-hand corner of your keyboard) then click and drag on the map to adjust the angle. It's a little bit tricky to start with but have a play around and get a feel for it.

Eventually you should get something like this (part of Nethy's pre-migration wanderings from last year)

You can also change your 'altitude', either by using your mouse wheel (if you have one) or by using the slider controls in the top right-hand corner of the screen. You can also change the direction you're looking in (the default is north).

My message was just to confirm that you were in the right place for pasting the URL and an alternative way of posting which usually works better for me.

I don't have a clue how computer literate you are but if it was me I would completely uninstall Google Earth then re-install it.  That would get rid of any changes you might have made.

Sadly my sense of humour has been misunderstood.

My comment about the earth still being flat was meant to convey

1.I  am  something of a luddite with an ironic sense of humour

2 I can't get google earth to work for me

I get as far as putting in the name of a file and putting in the link then I am stuck..

Nothing happens when I click browse or view

Well the Luddite bit made me think you had wrecked your computer this time instead of the cotton looms.

I think I will have to reload Google earth unless there

 is another way?

I learned a long time ago not to say anything on here if I was angry so have a X for re-assurance     lol

I do get hurt by comments made on the internet but more by comments made to/about other people than ones directed at me.

Hmmmm. You must have nearly done it. Can you scroll down to see the bottom of that window? It must be there somewhere!

If not, maybe you need to try Google Earth help.
