Time to get the boat out at MB:
Thanks Sandy. I spent a couple of hours in the Shallow Water hide this morning. 5R was on his perch and Mrs 5R was on the perch above the nest when I arrived. 5R then came to the nest for a while before flying off on a fishing trip. He had not returned by the time I left. You can see the chicks above the nest rim now unless they are lying down. Some pics:
Thanks for the pics Alan
Margobird
I do envy you being able to visit Rutland, Alan. Super photographs. Thanks
Thanks Alan - great pics as usual. Don't suppose there was any word on when ringing would take place? It can't be long now.
Sandy: No word about ringing but as you say it cant be long. Last year it was 13th July but the chicks are a week earlier this year so it must be in the next week or so.
Ringing took place very early this morning.
Alan - more wonderful photos - thank you so much!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Thanks Sandy. Not surprised that it was done today.
I looked at the webcam first thing, Alan and thought I could see the blue rings but couldn't be certain so went to MB to check. Numbers are (I think) 32, 42 & 52 (definitely all end in 2), white on blue.
